Yes but I dont think top gear was looking at it the same way as you are. If I was going to drop 70k on a car to drive every day, I would prefer that it didnt have rattles, but thats just me

That's why I said originally, it was my opinion. It still hasn't changed.

poor people dont finance 70K sports cars

doug 09-23-2007 03:42 PM

hey.. i didnt label it that name.

My buddy dad bought an 07 Z. Mark up and all the taxes came out to 98k, ouch. Still more of a car than most.

I've never heard of a Corvette on lay-a-way....unless it was a Hot Wheel at K-Mart.

pow pow power wheels?

I don't agree with the "If you can spend $70k on a car, then you can get one that's $120k." That's an extra $50k I don't think so. If I sold my Cobra or if I sold my G35 and my Jeep....or any combo of my cars....I could get a C6 Z. But I sure as hell wouldn't be able to swing anything near $120k.

Hell, I was going to buy a GT500 until they finally released the price and the horrid specs on the cars lol.

The list is only the opinion of Jeremy Clarkson, and guess what, he doesn't care that you guys don't like it. He gets paid something like a million dollars a year to be opinionated about cars and stuff.

Yes it has great performance, yes it has great price, but judging by what top gear said (and i dont agree or disagree with this because i dont know firsthand) its not a car you would want to drive every day because of its road manners. However, even with that drawback, I dont understand why it isnt on the list at all. From my experience, every american car ive known had some kind of quality issue. My friends 02 cavalier Z24, we opened the door and a quarter size piece of paint just chipped off for no reason, buddies 03 envoy, at least 6 trim pieces are already out of place, 95 mustang same trim issue, my old neon had rattle galore. I definately think the vette should be on the list because of its amazing performance, but not at #1 is for sure

ignorant and asinine statement. Your gonna assume that because it american made its garbage? i know what your gonna say, "well uh my friend said his crapalier fell apart and this envoy fell apart becuase no one took care of it, and my neon rattled cause my fart can had an exhaust leak". Its fiunny that the z06 thats sitting in my garage not only has amazing handling performance and all needed creature comforts (plus XM and navi) but it is perfectly capable of being driven everyday, only problem youll have is keeping your foot off the pedal. So what is the lesson we leaned today alex? Yes, your correct, speak what you know, not what you "heard".

This is no way me trying to say Z06 is best, if you think it is im sorry you feel that way. Watch the Z06 top gear for yourself, i think youll put it where it belongs.

agreement, i was rather interested in a new charger until i saw the 4k curb weight and no manual trans option

Raven18940 09-23-2007 06:20 PM

The funny thing is that this video is really old, before the C6 even existed, and Jeremy Clarkson actually likes the C6 a lot.

Yep. And they really are not the least impressive to me...not even the SRT-8.

I personally think that is one of the biggest failures they did. Seriously, that 4 door behemoth is NOT a charger lol.

NOPSTNS 09-23-2007 06:36 PM

he also loved the rx8 and it didnt make the list, so uh, its just some guys opinion, and while i personally love top gear i have to constantly remind myself its just a show....meant for entertainment.

one episode pitted a greyhound vs a miata ...like wtf is that?
entertainment! it was funny as hell!

the "american cars are junk" battle is so played out. everyone loves whatever they want and the battle will neevr die bc of it. how many times u think im told a day that rotaries are junk? um, about 215, do i care? maybe a lil, but i still love them anyway....are they the best in the world? hell no, but who the hell cares....

like whatever u want. no matter the price tag

Don't worry Frank...I think I hear the "It's still a Ford" comment just about as many times lol.

Raven18940 09-23-2007 06:54 PM

this is another "muscle car" guy thing that kinda irks me. nobody ever remembers that the "good old chargers" were the third car to carry the name

which charger do you mean?

the first one? the charger 273?

http://images.moparmusclemagazine.co..._Side_View.jpg

or maybe the fastback coronet charger

http://www.texasacres.com/rides/Joyce.jpg

or the Iconic bullit/DOH charger

http://www.musclecargarage.com/Mikes68charger.JPG

how bout the wedge chargers?

http://mapleleafmopars.homestead.com/71chargerfs.jpg

Chardoba?

http://www.lhmopars.com/MOPAR_Ads/75chgrad.jpg

how bout some front wheel drive?

http://www.jjf2.com/cars-my/charger1.jpg

it may have four doors but the car itself has never really stuck to one form. it is afterall a name owned by chrysler

True....I guess I always honestly think of the 1st 3 that you mentioned...and especially the Iconic one as pictured above.
But honestly, I don't think it looks ANYTHING like any of the previous models. lol. Oh well.
