The guys saying its not worth it.Maybe.But everytime you mod your car she is looking at that the same way not worth it.lol.
Plus like a car that you want to look cool.Dont you want your wife to be at a party and everyone asked to see the ring. You want that ring to be spectacular. And people to say wow.Just like your car. :)

good points..i get excited when people comment on my fiances ring. her freinds and strangers alike are like "did you help him pick it out". and she can say no he did it all on his own...woooooot!

i thoroughly disagree
i do agree on getting them a nice ring but not something thats going to take 3 months of pay out of your pocket, and i hope you didn't use 3 consecutive months of pay or your going to find yourself in a predicement but i doubt you would. In relationships i dont think money should be the major factor well atleast not the size of the ring should determine her choice of "I do" or the dreaded "no I can't"
Love speaks louder than money and im sure you'll agree.

sorry im still not the greatest at wording things but im workin on it

you would think a guy that can afford to drop $10K on a ring could produce something a little better than a camera phone picture, and a ****ty one at that.

Wonner you asshat. Now tell everyone thats a blood diamond that you bought at your new house in Cali.

Did you win the lotto?

wgknestrick 06-28-2007 07:03 PM

All jewelry is completely worthless and will most likely get you robbed before it gets you something positive. I never got it and never will.

I guess I was just brought up to be smart with my money and modest. 2 months salary is more than enough to spend on something so trivial. If your girl insists on more, then insist on a new girl.

Some people couldn't give two ****s what others think and buy what they (or their spouse) LIKES AND WANTS.

Ya know, 6 months ago I would have agreed...I never planned on getting married. But now I've never been more sure of anything in my life.

BTW, it's not a "blood diamond".

And luckily, we aren't forced to buy jewelry. You make the choice to not buy it and some of us make the choice to buy it.

I've only bought the one large stone for my fiance.edit: Also got her a set of Roberto Coin earrings. But, I also have many high end watches. But...they are worthless too.

10k on a ring..thats crazy..well if u have the money and can spend it like nothing well ahead..but in my opinion i would never spend 10k on a ring..

That ring is beautiful, you did an amazing job picking it out and all the other people who are saying **** didnt pay for it so really shouldnt say anything. There is nothing wrong with buying the woman you love, your future wife an extravagant ring that you know she will love. If you are in the position to make the purchase- more power to you and good luck with the wedding!

A lot of people talked **** to my ex when he bought my engagement ring saying " do you know what you could have spent that money on, dude??" " You spent 8k on an engagement ring?? are you ****ing crazy?? I would never do that for a woman!" and bla bla bla. It fit the 3 month salary mark or more and was absolutely gorgeous and when I wore it, I wore it proudly and with honor. He said seeing my reaction and how happy it made me was one of the best moments of his life and you cant put a price tag on something like that...

I can't see the diamond at work (they ban photoshop)...but I know where you're coming from spending 10K. My fiance set a price limit of 4k and almost killed me when she found out what I actually spent.

I tried the whole 3 month salary thing but then I was thinking about what my salary will be like when I graduate in a few years. I ended up setting out 5 diamonds that I liked and chose the one that had the look/ characteristics that I liked (and hid the price tags). That way I was buying on what I liked vs. what it cost. Luckily I preferred the one with a price tag in the middle.

I was planning on financing and paying it off with a bonus from work when my mom called (randomly) and told me she found about $5k in savings bonds in my name that they had gotten back in the 1990's.

Her parents and my parents graciously have offered a good chunk of money for the wedding and whatever is left will pay off law school. Talk about incentive to have a budget wedding.

BTW sex with a girl wearing a 10k ring is amazing... my fiance isn't bad either ;)
