I hate the thinking that every 400-600whp supra runs 12s. If you know what you're doing you can go MUCH faster. One guy I know w/a 94 TT put down ~650-700 I believe and went 10.3 or 10.7 (can't remember which). That's not too far past the 600 mark and he's in the 10s. He'll probly go 9s now (went to a bigger turbo).

Buy the Leg GT... You can drive it all year! If you buy the Supra no fun in the SNOW! And the Mitsu, leave it alone.

If you are looking into the supra, why not the 03-04 Cobra? They are about the same price, MUCH, MUCH cheaper to mod, 10yrs newer, weigh about the same, handle about the same or slightly less (susp modded), and are easier to find. I'd much rather have the Cobra power band on the street than the Supras. Cobras look bad ass to me anyways. By far the best Mustang ever released. Supras are starting to get to the point where interiors are aging poorly and stuff starts not working. Hard to justify $30K for a 10yr old car that most likely has had the snot beaten out of it.

I just don't get most of the love for Supras outside of a drag environment and they are still trumped by almost all domestic cars given half of the $ in mods. Still a nice car though.

New Legacy still has a ton of potential. $6K in mods and you have a good 400awhp on pump gas. Nice ride inside too.

I just think you are underestimating how much of a money pit Supras are. Ever try to buy 285+ wide tires? $200/tire Especially for a car that has the power band Supras tend to have.

You are also breaking the primary rule of Supra owners. Unless you have your own or are best friends with someone with a dyno, you cannot fully appreciate the Supra. I swear most spend half of their life on the dyno.

well, i hate mustangs with a passion. so thats out of the question. i still dont know what i want. maybe ill make the wrx rwd and get some sort of built motor. its still up in the air.

97TSi 06-22-2005 01:04 PM

I'd still go for the Supra

Supra or Legacy...like everyone else said it depends on what your street application will be...whatever you do dont waste your money on the 3000gt...the have a nice look but they are dogs/pain in the ars to fix

Boostaddict 07-03-2005 06:02 PM

I'd go with the legacy if you want something that's gonna be good in all types of weather, and reliable. Also I'm sure parts will be much easier to find, and much more reasonably priced.

oh well, i found the supra i want. ill have about 10k to spend on it on top of the car buy. im thinking a nice set of gun metal wheels maybe a lip kit. the rest is going to the motor.

Once you get rid of the stock junk tires, it would be great in all weather situations.
By the way boostaddict, I believe you stole my car for your avater pic!
