First time reading this thread. Looks like a lot of fun, keep us updated. I can't wait to see what it looks like when its all said and done.
Are you still planning on picking up a set of RGR's? |
those are my RGRs in the pic :)
|
very nice progression, but i have never seen anyone change their cars look as much as you have. either way it is still a very nice car.
EDIT: this is 04 turbo spec |
i've changed wheels a lot, otherwise... it really hasnt changed that much except for 2 'aftermarket' sets of lights and going to the chargespeed bumper then the oem lip.

Added a couple of little things this week, might as well start documting it all here...
Well, last week I installed a UTEC and pulled out my Accessport. I had owned a UTEC in the past and let me just say that this time around... wow, they have added a lot of great features. A short list of the UTEC's capabilities: 5 separate maps which control fuel tuning, timing tuning, and boost control. Fuel can be controlled via MAF or Speed Density. Launch control and flat foot shifting can be easily wired up. The UTEC can be set to detect and respond to knock and also adjust for changing temperatures. There are about a thousand other features but I'll just leave it at that for now... The UTEC is a very powerful engine management system, and I have been really enjoying using it this time around. I also found a great logging and editing program called UTI which was developed by an individual and its fantastic. Unfortunately there was a hardware interface problem which I have since solved, but this is what was involved in getting the UTEC up and running the first day. Yes, I had to set my entire desktop up next to my car in the garage... http://www.bryantroll.com/other/jour...TECreflash.jpg I also installed a Perrin EBCS (Electronic Boost Control Solenoid), which is basically an improved boost control solenoid which is still controlled by the factory boost controller, which I am now controlling with the UTEC. Simple hoses, simple wiring, and a little custom bracket with a rubber dampener so the solenoid didnt rattle on my strut tower when activated... I could immediately tell a huge difference in boost response... it built much more aggressively and I actually had to lower my boost targets right off the bat. The blue zip tie is temporary, I promise... http://www.bryantroll.com/other/jour...hotos/ebcs.jpg And lastly, I installed a Perrin Brake Master Cylinder Brace. I already have upgraded calipers, rotors, pads, stainless steel lines, and brake fluid, so this was just the finishing touch really. This basically eliminates flex in the brake master cylinder which improves pedal feel, and to my surprise it did exactly what was advertised. I can tell the pedal feel is firmer, its a nice little touch. Install was very simple... http://www.bryantroll.com/other/jour...nmbcbrace1.jpg http://www.bryantroll.com/other/jour...nmbcbrace2.jpg |
Nice! I allways wanted a master cylinder brace. Deffinitly want to pick one up now.
|
Does the pedal feel change with the brace?
|
Awesome. Glad you got the glitch with the UTEC figured out. I didn't realize UTEC could respond to knock or have that many maps switchable... or could run speed density. That's some good stuff!
Your car is getting serious, haha. Why'd you get the Perrin ECBS instead of the GM BCS? Sorry if that's a dumb question but I don't know much about the differences. And that first picture is soo sweet. |
ok so you and I both know that kaminari hood won't fit if you go with a reversed intake mani. Hook me up, I want that hood and I want the kaminari lip with their splitter! I need a new look son!
|
Very nice progress troll! We def. need to slap that thing on the dyno for tuning and it should be a monster!
|
where did you go offroading at in South NJ
|
hating my car lately, but i did finally get an updated photo of how she sits right now... added to the first post but i'll put it here too...
