Closest one is a 5MT, the further one is a 6MT. The 6MT is a chubby bitch and weighs a ton lol. The 5MT I picked up by myself, the 6MT I almost fell over even with a person helping me. lol

i want a ride in your car after you get everything situated

jc8889 09-11-2006 10:37 PM

They dont even look similar, were they bolt up to the block. Maybe its just the pic.

Dave 09-11-2006 10:57 PM

that 5 speed still in one piece? you know, it'll bolt right up to the 3.3 flat six in a SVX...;)

TROLL 09-12-2006 12:23 AM

yup, planning to sell the 5 speed... one guy wants me to ship it but if i found a local buyer i'd go that route instead.

and yeah they both bolt up the same way... wiring is nearly identical, only difference are the two wires for the Driver Controlled Center Differential on the 6 speed... i need to add my own controller for that as the one built into the STi wont work with the WRX. it will be added in very shortly :) till then my car will be on the mechanical LSD center which can shift torque up to 30% forward or back... (yay for 2006 STi's -- 2004/2005 STi's had an open center diff)

D Money 09-12-2006 12:25 AM

word, where is my dccd controller.

New wheels and no hood scoop look sweet.

ohhhh 0wn3d. one of the axle seals is leaking... the replacement should be arriving today and i'm going to attempt to fix it tomorrow, hopefully that goes well... kind of a pain in the ass but it happens.
just got the hood back from paint last night :)

thanks joe... havent really ripped on it too much, we had to shake **** a lot to get the tranny off the motor and i think i developed an uppipe leak in the process, and like i mentioned above the axle seal is busted. that combined with the new clutch that i have to break in... i've kinda just been taking it easy on her so far. when i do get on the throttle it doesnt feel like anything special, but i think the exhaust leak probably contributes to that one.

Sweet.. Glad you got the 6mt installed. I'll be picking mine up in the end two weeks or so.. Any surprises I should be worried about? I hear about the biggest problem is getting the tranny apart from the motor.

Pocket_Rocket 09-13-2006 11:10 AM

I saw the hood sometime last week I am pretty sure. Meant to say something earlier. Best of luck and awesome move to the 6speed.

TROLL 09-13-2006 11:13 AM

nothing in particular, its just kinda seized up on the motor so you gotta shake the crap outta it and if you an get a slight crack then put a flathead screwdriver in there or something and work your way around. we got it off eventually but it wasnt pretty so maybe there's a trick i dont know about. where'd you find a 6 speed for sale? do you have the rest of the components to install it?

Yeah thats what I hear for getting it loose..

I haven't picked up anything yet. I was going to piece it together off NASIOC but after reading this thread I think I'll be contacting Nitro Don and get a complete setup.
