Rain and yes, even light snow. Sure those people are the ones riding the upright BMWs, etc. with tons of gear and traveling 10 below the limit, but they're out there regardless. Every single day, people act like assholes, flying past the shop. Sportbikes are sometimes up in wheelies from the traffic light a few hundred yards away all the way past our shop and out of sight. Harleys speed past, usually in packs, and are always going at least 20mph over the 45mph limit. No matter the style of bike, most sould like they're at full throttle or damn close to it. I see them every day acting like assholes. There's never a nice day where I don't see tens of bikes out on the road. To say I saw 50 today (or at least a few of them going by a few times each to equal that number) would probably be right on the money.

While I'm not one to condone wheelies, the harley guys doing 65 on Route 100 is not a big deal whatsoever. That is common for cars, bikes, semi's, etc. You just notice them because they're loud and "sound" fast. I can't tell you how many times I have been yelled at in neighborhoods by people for riding way too fast, when I'm doing the speedlimit.

1. You are comparing convicted murders on death row to guys riding their motorcycles over the speedlimit?!? Are you retarded??? Actually no, you're right the guy who rapes women and then kills them afterwards and is put to death is the exact same as the guy on the morning commute who goes on the shoulder to avoid traffic.

2. Do you have facts to support this? Funny because my mom had a Watch for motorcycles sticker on her suv when I had my motorcycle and I know a couple buddies parents have the same thing. I guess there is a secret squad of mothers going around riding dangerously and raping and pillaging their way through traffic? I'm going to have a long talk with my mom...

3. How is this ridiculous? The billboard is almost the same thing as the sticker; just serves as a reminder to motorists to double check for motorcycles since they are much more prone to winding up in people's blind spots. If the sign said "keep space open in between lanes in traffic so we can squeeze or Vrods through" then yeah you'd have some merit here. But you don't. It's not ridiculous, you're ridiculous.

4. I checked Bull****.com and couldn't find this statistic, so if you could link me to it that would be great.

How about you go have a few beers with Kevin (OutToWinPAHC) and find out about the accident he had...

****ing moron.

This pretty much sums up how I feel about this whole arguement. It is AMAZINGLY easy to increase your speed on a motorcycle. And personally, on a two lane road I like to be traveling slightly faster than traffic so that I'm not getting passed from behind very often. This way, I can see and watch the majority of my obstacles. This also means that I need to usually travel around 75-80 on a 65mph road. But I guess that makes me an asshole too.

i want to start by saying yes ive owned/ridden a gsxr 750 before and yes i went down before. with that being said, i have done stupid stuff, mostly on dead roads, but i have NEVER weaved in and out of traffic or split traffic.

i have at least 2-3 situations this year alone on 476 where i was passing people cruise set at 80, and i glance in my rear view mirror and here are 4-5 bikes, out of nowhere, inches from my bumper. before i even had time to move over after passing the car these idiots weave right in between us. if i had to brake suddenly they would have been done, same as if i actually would have continued to move over to the other lane.

so sovxietday i dont think he was saying you are an ass for doing 75-80 on a road, i think he is saying about the idiots like in my situation, doing 100+ down 476 loaded with shore traffic on a sunday afternoon.

it really comes down to this:

if you are controlling a vehicle, and you cause yourself damage it serves you right. If you cause someone else damage, man up and pay for it.

People need to quit blaming everyone else. The only person anyone has control and responsibility over is yourself.

If i see someone have an accident regardless of ANYTHING i will stop and help. that doesnt mean i feel bad that they injured themselves, but its just WRONG to ignore those in need of help.

you guys are just running in circles calling names, this thread is a waste.

and just remember guys.....

opinions are like assholes, everyone has one and they all stink.
