What's up everyone? Yeah going to be a busy Friday I think. I will pop in when I can.

I had a fun night last night. me and 2 of my buddies were gonna head down to Foolinaround's garage meet... but when the thermostat in the gauge cluster breaks 230-240, and ur truck only has a 190º thermostat, thats a decent hint that maybe this trip wasnt the best idea. We call these blazer moments. I didnt even make it to the bb caravan. I just pulled into play it again sports on rt73... my cooling system was bone dry. we put in like 3/4 of a gallon of 50/50 and it filled, then let out a huge burp. then we put like 2 more gallons of water in. soft peddled it the mile and a half home, then we just chilled at my place. we filled the radiator and overfill up again, then it ran at like how it should aka not overheating.

we think theres a slow leak somewhere, then the heat just evaporated the rest. i checked this morning, and my blazer still has coolant in the overflow tank. but it was empty so it has to go somewhere. leaking anything sucks from a motor, but this can almost be expected from a high mileage engine. itll be fine for making the trip home today, but its gonna be fixed before this nights done. shes gonna be a happy blazer when this is done.

This made me

But yea, def a big issue, don't risk overheating it. Replace your tstat and maybe rad cap just cause its cheap, then re-fil. If you need help let me know I just had some cooling issues with my car. Took awhile to see the leak, but it ended up being an air pocket that caused steam to crack my side tank on the rad.

typo on my part, that 2nd part was supposed to be in the 1st paragraph. last night it was bone dry, but we put enough to get back to my place and then completley fill it. and this morning it still had all the coolant there. I didnt want to risk toasting my motor, so we pulled over before any damage(that we know of) was done. The thermostat and water pump were replaced in may, so im not sure if they are the real issue. i think there might be like a small leak in one of my head gaskets, and the coolant might be going into my cylinders slowly, and blowing out my exhaust. there were NO puddles of anything under my truck. Worst comes to worst, i have a whole radiator from my parts truck i can throw on there if thats shot.

Oil is still clean? And if coolant was getting inth the cylinders, wouldn't there be white smoke?

liberta 11-20-2009 11:36 AM

like i said before...(or meant to say before lol) it has to be going somewhere. and its not under the truck. i havent noticed any smoke from the exhaust lately, but its not like someone broke into my truck, popped my hood, then syphoned out all my coolant, then locked up my truck like it never happened. either way, were checking the radiator cap, pouring some sealant into my radiator(it has 171k miles... mostly highway), completley flushing the system, and giving it new coolant, then changing the oil.

It's keeping a steady temp and coolant level so far, but this is only a temporary fix. i know it, and the blazer knows it.

Very true, sleeper.

I also just got an e-mail from a parts website for BMW's. One of the clutch hard lines will take 4 weeks to get here. :bigeek:

Quick call to the dealer, for $9 more than the website I can get it on Tuesday.

Sam make sure you check out crown auto. They usually beat all prices and they're a dealer so they can get all parts fast. I've even gotten the special tools they are NOT allowed to sell from them. JD is a good guy.

I had this problem before. Coolant mysteriously disappearing. It was going out my exhaust through my blown ass head gasket.

Did you get the sand out of your vagina today? I was starting to wonder if you burnt a hole in your latest Folari Testicleosa with your magic buffer.
