You should check out a book by Hans urs von Balthasar called "The Glory of the Lord: Volume 1, a Theological Aesthetics".

It changes how you see things...absolutely life changing. Little long though.

I grasp what I can see and touch as well, but on the other hand I do believe that there is a "greater being".

If I have to read the bible that book won't make much sense ;)

I once asked my religious cousin why his band was named "Jacob's Hip"

Is it still in print? Can you tell me more about it? Always willing to try new things.

My office has a little window that looks out onto the hallway where people walk by and I really need to make sure I look serious and not laughing when they walk by. Its quite hard!

imagine working at a desk face to face with your boss... only thing between us is her monitor screen that pretty much consumes her face.

ozthunder 11-26-2007 05:17 PM

Liz...sorry I was in class. You should be able to find it from Ignatius Press. Basically it's about finding God through all aspects of aesthetics- especially nature; the idea of music, the sunrise, child birth, etc. Those "pictures" where the Lord pierces through. It's hard to express in words, but it definitely changed my outlook on perception.
