TGV's are Tumble Generator Vavles. They are below the manifold and rotate to certain degrees to tumble the air into the cylinders....for emissions. We say eff that shat. So we are taking them out.

30 miles on the car now, running like a champ.

i raised the rear suspension this morning because i looked like dimitri back there and i was rubbing over bumps, eff that.

still need to adjust the clutch pedal back a little bit and also would like to rebleed the brakes just for a firmer pedal. and want to do all that other stuff on the list too :)

driving to allentown tonight, hopefully gonna put a solid 125-150 miles on the car... gotta keep it going to break this puppy in.

what does rebleeding the brakes do exactly?

Spocknasty 08-07-2007 11:29 PM

Gets the air out.

Gets air out of the line and gets rid of a spongy or sinking pedal.

Its always the little things that need reminders.

TROLL 08-08-2007 02:59 AM

and the front windows werent operable until last night. as funny as it sounds, the car wasnt driveable for any real distance until either the ac or some of the windows worked...

Next to the engine turning over and running....windows and a/c are superfluous.

you still haven't answered my question busy man!...

How do you register the mileage...you know, since it went from 60K+(?) to under 5K-(?)

Ryan

Goddamn right.

97TurboDSM 08-08-2007 12:53 PM

in PA the theres options on the title for unkown mileages. my guess is that if for some reason he gets it re-titled thats what will happen or if it gets sold. if neither of those things happen i dont think he has to do anything special.

Ryan

you register the mileage of your car, not your motor.

TROLL 08-08-2007 01:42 PM

yeah i didnt know how to answer the question on this public forum, but i'm just not gonna worry about it and i dont think my inspection guy is going to worry about it either (hopefully).
otherwise nobody should be paying any attention... the cluster went from 71k which was the actual mileage on the old motor and on the car itself, and the new cluster is at 5k but the engine only has 400 miles on it now. i wrote it all down so i can keep track of chassis, engine, and cluster mileage.

Nice Job Bryan. You know I can appreciate a swapped bugeye!
