Well, I kinda have to cover it at work, being a heavy diesel mechanic and all.

Hence why I used a bretheable material. It was recommended by Jaybird to do it at work, at least. I just wanted to keep seepage down, since it's shaded.

And yeah, my first.

You're fine to cover it, especially at night and at work. Lotion and creams collect dirt like crazy, while you sleep protecting it from picking up dirt and from rubbing is a much better alternative. It is, however, just as important to let it breathe whenever you can.

Everyone has an opinion that will directly conflict with someone else's. Just do what your artist recommended; it's worked for them thus far.

Totally umderstandable that you need to cover it at work. Both of mine are on my back so they're always covered. Just wear loose clothing when youre not at work. Air helps it scab and heal faster. Once it starts peeling, give it a day or so then you can pretty much do whatever. Were you told anything about taking care of it? Soap, neosporin, lotion??

A&D as needed, when it peels off, I may get a dry skin deal. At that point, just lotion up like crazy. Don't overdo the A&D during healing cause it can cause it to take longer. Use only bar soap and your fingers to clean it, no washcloths, no scrubbies, etc etc. Blot dry, don't rub.

Jaybird says that means the tattoo god has not told you what you wanted. When the tattoo god deems it right for you, you will know. :p

He also said that walking in the door is the first big commitment. The second is sticking it out after the outline is done (by far the worst part of the tatt. The shading is cake).

Me either.

I'll probably cave one day and get a tattoo of a heart with my name and Jon's on it, so we can make our love last forever

and then promptly kill myself.
