there is more to making power than the size of the motor. Just an example a 350 chevy crate motor can range from like 300 all the way to like 650 hp. Thats all on the same size motor. many things factor into making power so you cant just say "well his car is only makig 200 hp on 15 lbs of boost while mine is making 200 on 9". compression comes into play. the heads make a big difference, and the cams. like. There is so much more than just "psi" that regulates how much hp a motor will put out

NO WAY!!! :bigeek: I just thought More boost equals more power.... I'd guess id better turn my car down from 24psi:(

JKZ 11-29-2008 06:30 PM

Can we stop this now?

Who's making it out Tuesday?

I was kidding about the 24. Just being sarcastic. Theres no way the bummy oem turbo can put out any power over 17psi

I know lol. How much boost do those motors run stock? Ive also noticed that quite a few turbo cars run 10+ stock...i think the WRX, GTI/GLI, and the SRT-4 runs like 12-14 stock IIRC....am I right here?

Evos run like 10000psi stock.

Around 9-10 normally (MR2s). Fuel cut kicks in at 12psi on 2nd gen(mine). I beleive 3rd gens dont hit fuel cut until 15psi... With stock everything you can disable fuel cut and run 15-16lbs with no problems

motorvated 11-29-2008 07:11 PM

The stock VW 1.8T come from the factory pushing 5-7 PSI...I think some people need to read on these "turds" they talk about, then report back when they get the right info.

I'll be out tuesday BTW

InvisibleMonkey 11-29-2008 08:02 PM

cleanneon, i think you're a nice guy and all, but you seem to have this "my car is better because it makes xxx hp at 9lbs of boost" attitude

if we're going to be like that, i make 300 whp on 10 lbs so there

and i saw the video of you and the MR2, you had him at first but then he pulled on you, it's called top end...don't act like your car is faster

This isnt about my car...im just asking about engines..

JKZ 11-29-2008 08:14 PM

Sounds like its about your car "not to brag but my car can do it with boltons on under 10psi of boost"
Seems like its about your car there?
Did we all miss something

If its about motors we answered that long ago so just drop it

InvisibleMonkey 11-29-2008 08:14 PM

all you need to know about engines is that 1JZ and 2JZ are FTW!

motorvated 11-29-2008 08:16 PM

bahah^^

CleanNeon98 11-29-2008 08:19 PM

Ill just talk to red3kgt at the meet next week, this is hopeless because there is way too much mis-communication.

motorvated 11-29-2008 08:20 PM

no..there is way to much misinformation.

So whos all coming out tuesday? I'll be there weather permitting.

InvisibleMonkey 11-29-2008 08:30 PM

i will be there
