In all honesty....it's not me. The car comes with a really light clutch, and I often lend the keys out to friends and such and it's a very difficult clutch to adjust to because of how light it is. It already has 30k on it as well and I have been "aggressive" with it on a few endurance style cruises. I've seen people go through clutches much faster than I have, I will say, it's not my driving.

So mix all that together, and the different drivers and their styles and it's probably the cause. Fortunately, there aren't many manual Fusions, so I can probably claim warranty :mrgreen:

yeah, i hear you. i'm used to a heavy clutch.

my dads truck clutch is so bad, i have to be at about 50% throttle before i start moving the clutch, or the damn thig stalls

and my buddies jetta, i don't even have to get on the gas, that thing is nearly un-stallable :roll:

i remeber the first time i learn to drive a standard, the clutch that was in it had 60,000 miles on it. at 60,010 it need a new clutch. :lol:

LOL, it's no lie. For one my car has a super heavy clutch with dual mass flywheel which helps you slip it just perfectly. So every time I start out I nearly stall the car and I basically don't slip any other gear... ever. I taught marina to drive the exact same way. When she rides with other people she usually thinks wtf. That and I have a LOOOT of highway miles.

Lost a catalytic converter, lost a head gasket, been through many many parts but still original clutch and trans. And I have all of the service records too. The clutch has to be close to being done but the gears don't grind cause the synchros are still good and the clutch still engages with 10 times the force of my 3000gt. If I drive the 3000gt just right I can get the clutch to slip in 1st gear after it's well engaged. What a wimp.

Another wtfism is that this car has only had 2.5 sets of brakes too. An m3. Lol clearly myself and prior owners didn't drive it properly.

But I've eaten at least 6 sets of rear tires myself ;)

Not technically. He could just fix the 3rd gear synchro but that's a whole other game and you have to be uber precise and clean with your work inside gearboxes.

I would definitely reuse what you have. For starters do you get a lot of noise with clutch in idle or revving up? If not, then you don't need a new TB. But I guess you would know whether or not your clutch is fried tho.

3rd and now 4th are done for good... it's easier and cheaper to just throw a good working trans in with a new clutch..

my car is above the stock toyota clutch torque capacity anyway.. because I'm getting slipping and its been less than 5k miles lol.

theres gonna be lots of pictures and laughing when I pull things apart... it's not gonna be pretty lol
