Power bleeders ftmfw.

Looks good contrats. Just curious, why did you do the swap? more power? more possibilities for power? problems with old engine?
|
for the same reason a dog licks his balls... because he can.
but really, its just a better motor all around. i just made 270/250 on the old motor... i think i'll make 100 more ft lbs on the new one with similar mods, and there's room to grow from there. |

Bigger motor. Better gear ratios. Bragging rights. |

There is really nothing about the old motor that you would take over this one, ever. |

No fabbing needed. Any 4 cyl from any subaru you can make fit in any other subaru that had a 4 cyl in it. Hell, even the 6 cylinders swap into GCs without too many problems other than wiring. |
there was actually some fabrication involved....but nothing we can't handle.

not only will this motor make more power, but it will make power sooner due ot the extra .5L and the AVCS that the STi motor comes with. it is also a semiclosed deck as opposed to the open deck of the 2.0L making it stronger so if i want to go to a bigger turbo or run higher boost, i can. its also going to make more torque than hp, something that i've never seen the 2.0L do.
and lets not forget all the extra goodies that coming along with it like the auto climate control, auto integrated dccd controller, gauge cluster, shift light, etc etc. example: 2.0L WRX engine with stock sti turbo, sti tmic, sti injectors, aftermarket exhaust, and a tune: ~280 hp, ~260 ft lbs. 2007 2.5L STi engine with sti stock turbo, sti tmic, injectors, aftermarket exhaust and a tune: ~310 hp, ~340 ft lbs. and the gap will just continue to widen with mods. i am using the stock turbo but adding a few other goodies and expect to be a good bit over the numbers i listed above after a tune. |
lol @ the steering wheel fiasco.
"*pissed off words*...superman put this wheel on with kryptonite" |

people are pulling over 370 ft/lbs with with a turboback and a tune with these - I want to see this thing sometime. Bring it out to some meets when its fully broken in. |
Was all the laughing during the clutch bleeding (I think thats what was going on?) because he took the steering wheel of by accident while the other dude couldn't get it off while trying?
|
no, but that did happen and it was funny.
We were laughing because I wasnt expecting it to come off even though I was the one who placed it on there 5 mins earlier with no bolt. And the look on my face when it let go was amazing...is was shocked to hell. |
cool vid, it was funny when they were trying to get the steering wheel off and bryan said something along the lines of "im an animal behind the wheel" haha it was just random
|
C'mon Bryan! Finish what you started! How could you go through all that to not finish one last detail to complete a COMPLETE STI swap? THE BLUE CARPET! c'mon now, you say something to me about it...hypocrit! lol
I know someone willing to trade their blue sti carpet for your black carpet...hint hint hint:lol: |
i have gray carpet, but i'm on a passive hunt for black carpet though, and i definitely need new floormats regardless...
