Well I finally was able to pick up my fid card and pistol permit on Sunday the 3rd. Three months and 3 days after putting in the paperwork. I placed an order for a new Xd40 and picked it up earlier this week along with 1k rounds of ammo. Finally got out last night and put 250 rounds down range to break her in. I know, I know, I should have some pictures up by now of the gun, stay tuned for that.

I should be running back to the FFL this week to pick up my other purchase, pictures to follow...

I can't believe this thread has gone this long without anyone posting. Looks like you PA people might have some trouble coming up with the recent police violence. Even more talk of stringent gun laws. Hopefully Nutter doesn't get his way, I heard him on the news earlier saying "...we need reasonable gun laws like NJ or NY". Good luck.

I bought my first gun, its nothing special, just a little something for home protection. Its a 20g Mosburg pump action shot gun. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet but my friend wants to go skeet shooting so hopefully soon.

Next move I make is getting a consealed weapons permit...

Congrats on your first purchase! Any pictures yet?

The only bill that passed today was reporting a gun stolen. I agree with it, and would have been pissed if the others passed.

Skeet shooting is lots of fun. Where do you plan on going? Sugar bottom road up in (I guess it's called) Warwick, right off York road is a great place for skeet. Knockamixon, if the skeet ranges are open again yet (I think they all closed down), is another great place, and free. Just bring a thrower.

Is anyone interested in an HK USP 9mm compact by chance? I'm trying to pick it up, and will sell for the same price that I buy it for, or will trade for an equal value rifle (AK, or AR, etc).

I have no idea where to go. A buddy of mine said his dad knows of a place but I haven't got together with them yet. If you ever go to Knockamixin or that other place let me know, I'd like to come with I'm dying to try this thing out.

All these new guns? I will post pics of my late 1800's 12ga? ZULU shotgun, no make or model as it is unknown. Last I had it appraised at an auction it was worth $5.000 in 1999. I got it handed down and it is still on the wall. 48" barrel, 3" plus bullets you can't buy anymore, last I heard made of full brass. I would be scared to fire this thing it looks like an old flintlock with a chamber that opens up to the side.

I've seen a bunch of them for sale (late 1800's) for $500 or less at various gunshows, and on different sites. If you search gunbroker, there's probably a couple on there.

Antique weapons are always cool though!

$500 is not even close, I had it appraised many times and I will never sell it. handmade by some local gunsmith in Lancaster county that was well known back in the day. He also fabricated my grandfather's (handed down to him) custome 30-06 mauser. I have never shot a gun that was so balanced and on point everytime. I'll post both guns when I get home this weekend, time permitted.

I was just saying that I have seen many for below $500, no doubt that there could be rare ones out there, just like MOST late 1800's ZULU 12 gauges sell for right around $100.

Here is one of the most expensive ones that I have seen for sale...
http://gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=84836025

and the usual value...(around $100)

Definitely post pictures though when you can!

whats the price?

ITSTOCK 11-21-2007 01:58 PM

It looks like someone else is going to snag it up before me, it was $450 though.

I read today that the Supreme Court is going to hear the case on the D.C. gun ban. This should be interesting. Given the conservative lean of the court I am hoping they will rule favorably and say the ban in unconstitutional. It could also have an impact on the election.

goodfella732 12-05-2007 09:21 PM

Just a boring new purchase...
