What kind of headers are on it now? Shorties? If yes then go Long Tubes. Don't do springs. Talk about stiffening up your ride.

Meeshell 09-30-2009 09:13 AM

Morning everyone =] It was nice to be able to stay in bed this morning and not have to brave the cold air in my house - sleeping with a ceiling fan on year round is kind of torturous at times lol. Hope everyone has a good day today! I know I'm planning on it - IHOP for breakfast, returning my leased slowbalt to the dealership then, oh... you know, just picking up my new car!!!!! haha, only slightly excited.

HickRocket1258 09-30-2009 09:18 AM

Meesh are you having another work day at home?

1. short shifter?
2. springs?
3. headers?
4. powercoat rims(gunmetal grey) and brake calipers(red hot)

headers... as if GTOs are not loud already (assuming you have some sort of catback)

short shifter costs $600?

I'm already catless and have a catback so headers will be nasty loud for a DD. But I would love the extra HP to go with it.

Short shifter is $350 plus shipping. I want the GMM one because it is one of the few that still use the stock shifter and boot.

I have stock exhaust mani. I don't think they are long tubes.

My current go fast mods: LPE GT2-3 cam, used 243 heads off an LS2 with new LS6 springs, ported TB and LS6 intake mani, KNN cold air intake, IAT relocate, catless mids, catback, and tuned.

DPancoast 09-30-2009 10:04 AM

i suppose i was oblivious to the sound of jays car when we went to the faire. Didnt seem TOO bad

Is this just a car you want to be a fast daily with? When you switch up to long tubes you are going to need a different midpipe along with it.

I already have JBA catless mids that will bolt to long tubes, atleast most brands.

It's a DD. Thats why I'm worried about how loud long tubes can be.

ahh nothing like coming back to town to sit in 20 miles of traffic on the NJTPK, and then finally getting to work to have the same software that was working flawlessly in st louis open and freeze everytime i try to open it. AWESOME!!!

i'm having flash files that worked yesterday not work today... with no changes

HickRocket1258 09-30-2009 10:48 AM

Long tubes will make it a little louder but not that much louder that it's not tolerable.
