Boo dr appointment... Yay, bed rest for two days?? I can't go to work because of my swollen ankle and the fact that my foot loses circulation when I sit on a chair.. Pretty sweet but I have to use pto days which is lame.

Julz, did you ever end up going to the doctor? How're you doing from before??

I don't have IM! :o

I got my new service dog yesterday. While shes a great dog, I don't really like her/her personality. Which makes the whole experience kinda sucky. Bleh.

Pretty normal to have your foot lose circulation with an injury. That is why you have to keep it elevated as much as possible. I didn't such luxury with a cast on my arm up to my shoulder.:(

piku 09-28-2009 10:59 PM

Special tool required to press the rear lower control arm bushings
Special tool required to press the 4 rear ball joints.
Special tool required to tighten down the strut shaft nut
Special goop required to seal the differential back together.

fml.

yeah. that would be great if there was an injury. this is just swollen to spite me and teach me to just not get mosquito bites from FDR Park. i kept it elevated all weekend and it finally started looking normal again this morning (more mobility and i could see the veins and the bones in my feet again). went to work and my foot started to look like a balloon and basically turned purple by mid afternoon. have to go back to the doctor by the end of the week if the swelling doesnt go away. which at this rate, never will.

was your hand dead when you got your cast off? lol that doesnt sound comfy at all!

Yeah my hand was dead. Put your palm facing up, bend the elbow to a 90 degree angle, and walk around like that for 3 months. Haha... I couldn't move my arm at all, nor my wrist. And my arm was skinny too so I had to work it out...

</3 at not having IM

What kinda dog is she?

DPancoast 09-28-2009 11:37 PM

what exactly is a "service" dog lulz

piku 09-28-2009 11:39 PM

Yeah. I've made like 20 special tools for pressing random bushings. The fml part is because I'm failing at these ones left and have to buy them. I either need a $80 kit from harbor freight, I got the tool for the control arms coming, the goop I can source from holberts audi (of all places) but I still don't know yet quite what I need for the struts. Would have been a damn shame of them to allow it to protrude though because then you couldn't adjust camber nearly enough. The sacrifices we make for proper handling :-P Also nearly everything is supposed to be torqued down in proper ride position meaning I need to buy or borrow ramps. (anyone have ramps? :-P).

And I can't make the goop. The local vw dealer had (because bmw no longer carries it) the goop but it expires 2/2009. I called up Henkel who offered dire warnings against using it.

But the rear shocks and the subframe are in the car and it's starting to come back together with all new shiny hardware. It's a nice feeling.

russiankid 09-28-2009 11:40 PM

I have ramps...but I am a bit of a drive. And when I swapped springs on an E39 I didn't use anything special.

Trained to help those with disabilities. Like seeing eye dogs is an example.
