Anyone have experience with MBI remanufactured ammo? I am looking at getting a few bags of the 124gr 9mm.

Ive never shot anything but factory ammo and for the extra price probably worth it.. Is MBI short for Military Ballistic Industries? If so I know a few buddies who have shot them without problems, just inspect them before you use them because numerous bags have been shipped with shells that were cracked/broken.. I couldn't imagine how that would go down in the gun, talk about why a Glock would blow up in your hand.. Last time i was at the range out of 500 rounds of the stuff i think they junked like 20 that they were iffy about and some were flat out cracked/broken shells Not sure how much this stuff goes for, but like i said, I would just inspect them before you shoot :) |
I ended up at Walmart and got 10 boxes of brass case Federal Champion 115gr. Hopefully the brass will eject better than aluminum, and the shape of the bullet is different too, more pointed.

I have shot steel and brass through my Glock with no problem (Brass seems to fly further) This is most likely due to the strength of the ejector spring...I only tried steel once when i bought 500 rounds..it feed them all fine but the way the bullet was seated with no crimp, ive since only bought brass for my Glocks.. Like I said my buddies buy MBI, if thats short for Military Balistic Industries and have had no problems other than a few cracked/shells, but i guess thats what to expect (How much was it?) Prolly hitting the range this weekend for a bit |
Don't get me wrong, the aluminum was fine, aside from ejection, I had a few rounds land on my right bicep my last shooting session, others went to the same place on the floor, I can usually set up an open bag and have most of them land directly into it. I am only now buying ammo in "bulk" a.k.a 500 rounds, this way if I don't like it, I can blow through it quickly. That said, I don't know why I even bother getting that many. This is what I got

So thoughts on sights for my Kimber?
I was thinking about using the same sights that I put on the XDM (TruGlo TFO's) |
I am in love. Was shooting a rental 5inch S&W 625 last night. Top .45 on the planet if you ask me.
****ing tack driver. 2 inch spread at 40 ft (range max). Would have liked to have gone further. Best trigger I have ever shot. Moon clips are a bit of pain at first but screw it. Rather have one over a Kimber, thats for damn sure. Definetly on my short list. |

Ok so any of you guys have the contact info for Glock? I'm going to look at their site but I know some of you have used them in the past and was just wondering if there is a certain number/site you've used to get a speedy response from them. A friend of mine came to me the other day with his Glock 19 saying after he field stripped it and put it back together the slide was locked and couldn't be moved forward or backward. Upon further inspection I noticed he put the recoil spring/rod in backwards. I literally had to hammer the slide off with a rubber mallet and a lot of painters tape. I would up breaking the spring and rod in the process. Now he was completely fine with it since he had no idea what he did or how to fix it but I felt bad for him and gave him the rod/spring out of my G19. So now I need a rod/spring and don't want to upgrade to a Lonewolf or other aftermarket one. I'm comfortable with the way the gun shoots and since it's one of my EDC guns I would like to keep it mostly stock anyway. Thanks in advance for the info.
