Ya the only time i use the slide "lock"/release for locking the slide back too, like i said i usually take an over hand grip and rack back to my chest (if i were to exaggerate like the instructor taught us, it would be rack the slide with over hand grip making your thumb hit your chest)

My comment on the magwell is about how the M&P has somewhat of a restricted well entry, where a glock's magwell is completely open.. I am use to my speed reloads on the glock and handling the M&P it would take some training for me to get use to the magwell entry of the magazine.

Oh I am down to shoot real soon, maybe we can get together a meet when i sell dave his G19 back, like we all got together when he sold it to me :) haha

We have to get out shooting again soon. If any of you guys feel like trying to get something scheduled, speak up and lets make it happen. We always mention it, but I want to actually do it. lol. I'm down for just about anything, any time.

I completely agree. I'll be done with school on the 15th of Dec, so maybe we can schedule something for that time?

Andy's farm perhaps?

Oh? It's MY farm now?? Well in that case, come one come all!

j/k, the farm I shoot at isn't mine, it's my buddy's, and every time I try to coordinate with him to give you guys a chance to come over and shoot you all bitch out... except for DC2, he made it out once and we had a blast.

I'm probably heading out this weekend to shoot somewhere. My friend just picked up 2000 rounds of .45ACP and 2000 rounds of 5.56 nato from the px on his base for $300. I wish I had the USMC discount. lol. should be a fun time if we can find somewhere outdoors to go. I've gotten more and more frustrated with indoor ranges and the assholes who run them. I'll do my best to avoid them from now on.

Just ordered my first pistol today. A stainless CZ83 in .380 acp. My wife loved a rental and I enjoyed it as well.

I always loved the reputation of CZs as my heritage is close to 90% Czech.

Planning on a 75bd next and I am sure a 97 will follow. A used 100 looks like a nice nightstand gun.

Although I am not a fan of plastic, from what I have read the ergonomics are superb and provide great POA. The trigger sounds sloppy but it is a polymer framed true DAO so I guess that its to be expected. Anyone have thoughts on them?

picking up a FN fiveseven this week. cant wait

So guess what? Now I'm 1911 shopping.

I carried my friend's Kimber Eclipse Custom II, a full size 1911, around the house all day yesterday after becoming very comfortable with it at the range. I was amazed at how slim it was, and that the long barrel wasn't that bad to deal with. I was always under the impression that carrying a 5" barrel would be almost impossible to do comfortably, but it was actually nice! Other than a bit of a weight difference, the 1911 was easier to carry and conceal than my 3.5" barrel M&P.

I'm familiar with a few Kimbers and Springfield's TRP (shot Dave's gun once), but how about some others to check out? Anyone have recommendations? I'm not opposed to carrying any size 1911, since the full size was easy enough to carry.

TST police officer the 204 is spreading misinformation in the ask the law section, where he can't be corrected by people who actually understand the law. After exchanging PMs, he explains that he will not correct the information because what I say is my opinion and what he says 'he knows', evidently just by being a police officer. Where do they find these guys? Who the hell approved the officer status here on TST?

92awdtsi 11-27-2011 01:32 PM

Ok, so who wants to trade me a nice Kimber 1911 for my blown up 04 r6... c'mon, i know someone wants a sweet bike.

I LOVED LOVED Dave's TRP, If i were to do it, thats what I would get for my first 1911...Kimber makes many quality, compact, subcompact, full size 1911's

Cant really go wrong with either...

NOICE!!!!

I picked up my G26 this and after my first trip to the range i spent about 5 hours polishing the barrel. I bought the gun used off of someone on PAFOA, and it didnt look like he oiled the barrel to much and had a lot of wear (weird, because my G19 has no marks on the barrel at all?)

Im still in the process of polishing the barrel going to finish up tonight or tomorrow before it hits the buffing wheel, I ordered Trijicon NS for it and will be putting them on as soon as they come in...

I'll chime in since my post in ask the law started this.

I'm tempted to PM Sarge & Bane to get their take on the question AND the situation that occurred after the apparent misinformation was posted.

I can't fathom why certain townships / individual officers would KNOWINGLY tell a citizen that they are required by law to do do something that they are in fact, NOT required to do. SMH

my edc a citadel officers in a king tuck super comfortable, very accurate for paying less than 500 for it, not really worried about holster wear and it goes bang everytime!!!

i also have a sig scorpion compact, but the coating isnt very holster friendly has chipped twice and ive been in contact with sig to make it right( their CS has gone to ****) i have 5 full sized 1911s as well, 3 customs, a SA range officer, and kimber tactical entry II

id recommend any of the armscor 1911s for a first. if you want to spend good money on your first go with a springfield loaded or a kimber( ive seen a few recently with the laser grips and night sites for around 800)
