On the way to Advance Auto when I hear something scraping...

sherwood 09-12-2009 03:44 PM

ohh noeezzz dont let the tank fall!

DPancoast 09-12-2009 03:44 PM

holy crap... good thing it didnt fall out lol....

im gonna need a new t/o bearing. whoopie wooo lol... just sucks in reverse.

anyways...

this weather sucks. Glad its gonna be nice tomorrow.

russiankid 09-12-2009 03:47 PM

Haha yeah. I strapped a bungie cord and limped it home as it was a 10 minute drive. Thankfully the other strap didn't let go.

Dan, you didn't replace the throw out bearing when you did the clutch? You should get cock slapped.

DPancoast 09-12-2009 03:53 PM

lol of course I did. but with my clutch issue it trashed it pretty good from not disengaging correctly and getting stuck. Oh well.

russiankid 09-12-2009 03:55 PM

I don't see how shifter bushings would cause a throw out bearing to get trashed.

DPancoast 09-12-2009 04:07 PM

because if the car isn't going into gear properly and the t/o bearing doesn't retract all the way when it does in fact go into gear because of air in the clutch line and the shifter bushings not seating the forks correctly.. it gets trashed... lol

I'll most likely just upgrade to an LSD trans in the Spring and be good to go.

russiankid 09-12-2009 04:13 PM

It still should retract all the way, that is why there is a spring on the fork.

Oakes 09-12-2009 04:23 PM

I have a spring in my fork.

This long day is getting longer, sweet!

DPancoast 09-12-2009 04:23 PM

well... I dunno.. somethin is screwy.. maybe my clutch is already popped... doesn't slip or feel like it tho...

stupid cars.

russiankid 09-12-2009 05:44 PM

Dan, I think you need someone else to drive the car and get an opinion on it.

DPancoast 09-12-2009 05:51 PM

sounds like a plan lol....

not to mention the fact that when I let off the clutch in neutral the car bogs like there is load on the car.... possibly a pressure plate issue... who knows. poop on my face.

How fas are you releasing the clutch? This sounds more of an internal issue with the transmission rather than the pressure plate.
