alright so based on the fact that I'm pretty sure I'm lactose intolerant, I decided to try out some almond milk today.. since it is an alternative to cow's milk. I love almonds but I'm not sure I like them in liquid form

sherwood 09-08-2009 09:31 PM

RSX Type-Slow 09-08-2009 09:37 PM

please learn me something and elaborate.....

Something like 75% of the world is lactose intolerant. It's all about whether or not your ancestors consumed milk after breast feeding ended.

RSX Type-Slow 09-08-2009 10:20 PM

75%?? seems high. i could see between 30-45% but 75 seems high.

I'm just stating my asian lactose problem due to having a few asian friends who are all lactose inolerant to an extent. some more than others.

Nope, my estimate is low based on what I've read over the last year and was told by my doc. Places like Africa and Asia don't commonly consume dairy products once breast feeding stops, hence your Asian comment being true.

I'm annoyed because I used to eat dairy like crazy - milk with cereal everyday, a bagel with cream cheese for lunch, and I used to eat cheese and crackers all the time. I <3 cheese.

And now... can not haz. Well I can but not without consequence

ASIAN JUL 09-08-2009 10:25 PM

Oh and I just looked it up in Wikipedia.. it's on there too. Crazy, huh?

RSX Type-Slow 09-08-2009 10:31 PM

wow it's suprising but makes sense. it's ashame cuz dairy products are totally FTW.

i'd probably kill myself if i couldn't eat cheese, ice cream, milkshakes, cream cheese, etc.

but if you like milk, soyjoy is pretty dam good but i usually drink skim milk so maybe thats why i like it.....

DPancoast 09-08-2009 10:43 PM
