however, I used to go to a different meet every day of the week Sun-Fri no matter what. Now I go to one meet a week. It's great to drive and meet new people/see new cars, but after a month of traveling close and far to the same meets, it gets old and with my foot, expensive (gas... I haven't *knock on wood* gotten a ticket in this car yet). My passion and drive for cars will always be there and I will always have a toy. But my will to travel to meets just to stand around every week over and over again? Not so much. Call me lazy, whatever... There's just times I'd rather lay in my bed and scratch my balls or go out with my gf on a nice date (she comes to the meets with me anyway). But even being tired never stops me. I sit down at home on a nice day like this for about 20 mins and next thing you know I'm outside cleaning my car, or making wiring neater or changing out something lol. It's a hobby that I'll always love. I'd rather start to learn the cars abilities at the track with seat time than drive to stand around when I already do that once a week. That's what I've been shooting for since I bought a car that has potential in both speed and handling. Just have to smooth out the edges and small problems. |

i keep saying it... i pretty much hate meets unless there is food involved. i hate standing around talking. i'd much rather be out doing stuff. I've met a number of people from a handful of meets that i am privileged to consider actual friends, and not just people i see at a meet every week.
but really... meets bore the **** out of me. i'd rather be at home sitting in front of the computer dicking around. i'm going to the bensalem hooter's tonight because it'll be a decent drive and they've got food and beer |
Meets to me are a way to open doors because you meet people that can teach you things you don't know. One example being the fact that I met Art and learned so much about the 3S and tons of other stuff related to my car, or my buddy Alex who taught me stuff about handling and how to drive a car through turns and where to go race that I could have never known. On the same aspect of sitting at home... I'd rather relax and do research/read up on stuff and learn than go accomplish nothing every night of the week.
Once the "door" is open.. It's open. Time to move on. Not just stand there to stand there. Get some food, have some drinks, whatever |
DPan I'm with ya on the whole girlfriend thing.

Yeah, yeah. It was free, though, can't complain too much I suppose.
But this time, I'm going import ;) |
Dans saying all this about meets that he doesn't attend very often anymore BUT we're attending SOMETHING car related September 12 & 13 and 19 & 20 (two full consecutive weekends) plus the big MR2 meet the 2nd weekend in October and possibly another local show the day following the MR2 meet
I don't mind car meets though. Sure they get boring but working full time and now that school is starting it's just time for me to get out with Dan and friends and not think about anything. I'm excited for the time to get out and hang out with people. Especially the MR2 meet though. |
I liked going to Exton for a while, met some awesome people and made new friends :) I do have to admit when it was colder and we were all going out to eat, I liked it better cause there was a purpose.
