Problem is I'm already a few hundred deep into putting a new timing kit on it plus the labor for the kid who did it. He didn't have any way to lift the motor out of the car so he did all the timing crap the hard way...which has already taken like 10 hours or so.

I don't even know how I'm at a point of functioning enough to be awake right now.

ASIAN JUL 08-28-2009 12:32 AM

I just have to laugh because I remember at first they thought it was a motor mount and then they thought it was bad plugs.... I wish

evomike 08-28-2009 12:33 AM

Yeah I would have not one it that way, just because those are throw away cars when they get crashed. Depending on what route you go when you get a quote if it's alot feel free to pm me, I have tons of connections at yards to get motors and I'm sure you could get help from forum members to install it.

lol
They are trying to scam you. The actual valve is a piece of metal. Costs about 20-50bucks tops.

Alright thanks man I def. appreciate it. I'm about to give up, honestly, for a car worth $3k, $1500 just doesn't seem worth it. The first year it had a turrible coolant leak and then this stuff less than a year later.... *sigh*

I don't know.. that's just what I was told. The parts guy at my job got quoted from another company

Oakes 08-28-2009 12:39 AM

Your mom got quoted from another company.

evomike 08-28-2009 12:41 AM

It's a shame that thing wouldn't have qualified for cash for clunkers, and yeah it does get to a point of is it worth it.

Yeah lemme get that quote on parts before you go ahead with anything... I'll call a dealership and at least verify that they're in the ballpark.

evomike 08-28-2009 01:03 AM

Pepboys or napa would probably be cheaper then dealer, is call places like that.

Oakes 08-28-2009 01:05 AM

Or know someone who gets dealer parts at cost price....like myself, BUT you don't talk to me anymore. Oh well.

evomike 08-28-2009 01:08 AM

Yeah I get one of those also, but gm is outrageous sometimes I deal with it all the time with my truck.
