There is a "lever" in the middle of the trigger that sticks past the trigger. It is jammed against the frame. If you put uneven pressure on the trigger, i.e. something goes in the trigger guard area, the middle lever won't get depressed enough to allow the trigger to continue the pull back. When a finger is on the lever, it's soft enough so even pressure can be applied to the lever, clearing the back of the lever from the frame, and allowing the trigger to be pulled. I don't know how such a simple concept can seem so complicated when I type it out  It's really a fail proof safety....if a person properly pulls a trigger, the gun goes bang. It's a good safety! Every gun has a similar built in safety, as does the glock. If you don't pull the trigger, it doesn't go off! That's why everyone always states, "DON'T PUT YOUR FINGER ON THE TRIGGER UNLESS YOU ARE GOING TO SHOOT"!! This INCLUDES PICTURES  |

In all fairness, I meant try them both! I just don't buy in to the whole XD uprising.

Its a decent piece of tupperware. lol. Its why I went with both. I really liked the fit and feel of both and they fit what I need them to do. Plus its just a start of many to come. Got bored tonight and felt like sharing some of my gun porn. The lighting in my room SUCKS.

probably the LEAST safe, safety IMHO |
fixed the grips on my mateba 6 unica autovolver (.44 mag)
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...g/DSCN1036.jpg as you can see here, the barrel is aligned with the bottom of the cylinder, this is to lower the recoil angle during the rapid fire that the automatic action allows http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...g/DSCN1037.jpg |

The Most Useless Thing In The World Is An Unloaded Gun. Know How To Use It Safely And No Problems

It's the ONLY external safety that I would ever want (it has internal safeties so that the gun can only be fired when the trigger is pulled also). My hk will never be clicked to the "safe" position, always locked, loaded, and on fire. eric summed it up pretty well. |
goodfella, what are they, aluminum knuckles?!?!!??!!? Pictures look good! And Dave, that is still one funky revolver!
|
true, but to an un-experienced shooter, who MAY have his girl shooting the gun, i would reccomend something that takes more than a slipped finger to shoot the gun. Dont get me wrong, i love the glock safety, and for me, and probably 75% of you guys, is all we need...

Same for anyone else. |
just curious why do you guys have guns...is it for protection? collection? hobby shooting? hunting? etc.etc. Ive always been amazed at the people that keep a semi-automatic in their closet for "protection" but that doesnt seem to be the case here so maybe il get some normal answers except for "its in the constitution"
|
my bb gun is simply for sport. its a daisy 15 XT I think(im at work)

The intruder gets closer, she pulls the trigger, and nothing happens. That's exactly what I would NOT want to happen, and also another reason why revolvers are so common for self defense. Unless the shooter is a complete retard, if a finger "slips" in to the trigger guard, it's not going to pull the trigger in. The finger should stay out of the trigger guard until the person is ready to shoot, as simple as that. But even with that said, read the previous paragraph. My girlfriend knows to ALWAYS assume that every gun she touches is loaded, whether it is, or isn't. Most of mine are. She is most comfortable shooting the HK, but in an extreme panic situation, I would NOT trust that she would remember to turn the safety to fire, if it were on. |

...collection: CHECK ...hobby shooting: CHECK ...hunting: CHECK ..."it's in the constitution": CHECK ..."semi-automatic in the closet": CHECK another one that I use...whether it be good or bad down the road, and I'm hoping for good.... ...investment As well as the mere fact that if I own as many as I can now, future generations will have them passed down and they will be able to enjoy them with the same reasons I enjoy them! |
Thats exactly why the Glock is the bedside gun and is the carry gun. 9 in the mag and 1 ready to fly. No safety to worry about other then my finger. I kinda felt werid about carrying a gun without a safety but after the last couple weeks of carrying my 26 around the house and getting myself used to a IWB holster I found that all the safety really does it give you an added step if you need to use the weapon.
