The push rod isn't out far enough and the pedal hits the floor/carpet too early. Stupidddd. I'll fix it in the morning..

Funniest thing of the night was watchin this pretty old dude at Reeds dancin with some chick like a dumbo....

It really could be air in the clutch system or a bum slave cylinder. You have to ask yourself, how did the pushrod get out of adjustment to begin with? ;) I'm trying to wrestle it in the 3000gt which has about 1.5" play in the beginning of the pedal (and terrible brakes too which have been getting better now that I am mashing them repeatedly).

Dunno. My car is good for about 15 miles before the coolent leaks right now. The shop I took it to to have a flat patched didn't torque my lugs so my rear brake assembly is trashed. I have spare rotors at hime but they are worped. Maybe Ill try putting them on the rear. Better the grinding I guess.

If the weather is nice, I'll def take the bike down.

You planning on going?

Is this all in the GTO? Seems a bit premature to have these issues unless you regularly autocross it or something... If so (and it's not all custom or something else), I'm glad I didn't get one.

I'll help, but don't you need to press them in? I read about a new (to me) technique to do that. It involves a floor jack, a chain, and a block of wood. Guess how ;) It sounds good to me. Maybe I don't need an arbor press.

Elliott18t 08-21-2009 10:45 AM

yup they need to be pulled and pressed :(

i can see how that works.. im guessing id have to pull the hub out for that way... or finesse the floorjack in such a way to make it work lol.

To pull the hub it might be easiest to rent the $20 pep boys 2 jaw puller. I rent that thing every other day for something. Used it to fix my elliptical machine the other day.

yeah, might do this sunday as im going to AC saturday i believe.. hopefully its not rediculously hot out :(. The day I did my brakes i felt like i took a shower in sweat, it was pretty bad lol.

LOL yeah I feel bad for mr. pancoast, I was basically doing the same thing Monday night getting the diff out and I probably started to stink a bit... and that was with the a/c on (but it's a wimp and was also fighting a hot 3000gt on the other side of the garage). I think Saturday morning I am going to disassemble the rest of the subframe and HOPEFULLY get my orders placed tonight. I found out that a whole bunch of nuts and bolts under there are one time use. Glad to know that before ordering rather than after. Also found out some crazy **** about driveshaft alignment basically you want to mark everything before you unbolt ;) The basically have a giant protractor that they use to ensure everything is lined up right.

Michelle - I overslept too :( I woke up at 8:30 when I'm usually at work by 7!!! Ugh!! So bad. Thank god my boss didn't get to work until 9:30 bc of a doc appointment. I have such crazy luck sometimes.

You are lucky, however I can't say much... My boss was supposed to come out to the bar with us last night but we ended up going too late for her. She gave me a little crap joking around this morning when I got here a half hour late but she was only kidding around with me.

I love having a boss that's 5 years older than me. It's pretty sweet that she's trying to become friends with me outside of work but it's totally because I'm one of the only people on he side about this **** she's going through with her husband

This morning is going ok now. Plus, it's payday. =]

Elliott18t 08-21-2009 10:58 AM

I think the nuts and bolts to my DP are too; at least the nuts. They are kinda jacked up so after inspection and I throw my DP back on, Ill get new ones :).

HickRocket1258 08-21-2009 11:02 AM

I'm too excited to work today. I'm barely doing anything. Out in 30 minutes. I'm so stoked to be at the track. Listening to live audiocast until I get up there.

clutch master and slave are brand new. We bled the system at JnZ with Justins fancy vacumm pump haha so it's not air. I'm pretty sure the hole on my clutch assembly is just ovaled out and with the excessive play, if not precise when pushing the clutch pedal down it doesn't disengauge the system properly.

A good used pedal is like $20. I'm not sweatin it.

Need help tonight? Maybe Michelle and I could come hangout and help after dinner. I still do owe you a ride if it's not raining

I'd offer to host them on my server but the couple companies that use it are already crushing the bandwidth on that little T1.
