^ Nice pic. Dave was worried about selling that gun but at least it went to someone who is really treating it nicely. You obviously love the thing and that's good to see. It has probably become just like my M&P... I tried other guns and they're all nice and fun to shoot, but my M&P just feels right in my hand and while carrying.
I haven't done anything gun-related in so long and I was starting to get the itch to get something new so I did some research and decided to build an SBR. I was about to post here last week with a list of parts that were going into a Draco AK SBR build, but at the last minute I decided to go a different route and now I have a giant home theater order from Newegg coming in later this week and I also bought some furniture. I've been in my house for 2 1/2 months now and I've had an empty living room the whole time. I figured I wanted somewhere to chill after work more than I needed to build a ridiculous (but fun) pistol, and then spend more money on a stamp and a stock later on. I guess I got my 'gotta spend money' fix and I'll have to save up for the Draco now. Oh well.. soon enough. lol. |
^^^I would have done the same thing, but right now my black rifle needle is in deep, still waiting to bite on an optic and a few upgrades..
But you're totally right, the relation I have with this gun is strong. I absolute love how this pistol feels and have trained with it since day one. I im itching to buy a 1911 though, but every time I go to look for one I see myself looking at other Glock's (Ive also been looking at other models including the M&P too). Probably why I have not bite the bullet on something yet. I take care of this pistol meticulously, Dave would be happy! Dave really hooked me up and got me going in the right direction and has guided me along the way, I cant thank him enough.. I want an AK too, so I am torn in every direction, but my AR will see continuous upgrades ha |

What do you think of the Trijicon Night sights? I found a decent deal on them at amazon for $108 for my S&W 1911PD. |

Trijicon Night Sights are great, they glow extremely bright at night and love them. They were on my Glock when I picked it up off of Dave..
355 is a pretty good deal, those prices are prices ive seen for group buys |
just checked buds, there out of stock on them. what stock set up do you plan on running? side folder or under folder?
|
well when I eventually do the build, I'm thinking either a VZ58 stock or an AR stock of some sort, probably a VLTOR. It's either badass looks and side-folderness of the VZ58 or comfort and all day shootability of the regular "modern" AK setup. I'm leaning toward the latter.
I'll post up my build list later tonight if I have time. |
^^ In for details...
Still going back and forth on which direction I want to go next... 1911 compact (for possibly carry) or do it right and get a full size? AK-47 Glock Pistol Go Ape ish on my AR, or pick up another? Like I said I have not bit the bullet on anything yet because im so unsure what I want right now (cuz i want them all) I know ive always wanted a 1911 since I shot Dave's TRP (but is that a more down the line purchase) Everyone should own an AK47 and have always wanted one, I thought id have one before my AR I am addicted to the AR scene and have a build in mine Anything have anything for sale? Dave still waiting on a price for the eotech |

To do an AR SBR build the right way (in my mind... for me), you're looking at +/- $2000, unless you buy used and wait for crazy deals on things. For the same kind of build on a Draco, it would be sub-$1000, stamp included. I don't plan on building a huge NFA collection, probably just a once (or twice) and done deal, so going the individual route instead of a trust means that I don't have to pay to get a trust set up either, so that helps matters. Steve - as for what to purchase next... Personally I'd go with an AK or HD shotgun, but that's just me. I'm in "need" of both so I'd pick the practical one. I think building a 'core four' is a good way to start a collection. That's something my dad taught me a while back and I plan to do it eventually. He always said that every guy should have a good shotgun, a semi-auto carbine, a reliable .22LR rifle (or bolt hunting rifle first), and a reliable carry-worthy pistol. After you have the four, then buy some toys. |
^^Sounds like a good plan, I do have a hunting shotgun..a 20gauge I got when i was like 15 at Walmart ha. To be honest I dont think I would like to use a shotgun for home defense situation and I guess that is just my personal choice. I feel that could cause more potential collateral damage than even my AR inside the home. (but maybe we could get a debate going here)...
I know i feel quite confident with my ability to shoot my Glock, however, in a home defense (night-time) situation where things become very dynamic..I would not want to miss the BG and have that 9mm travel through numerous walls, where as my AR the .223 will fragment more and not have the momentum to travel through as many walls as the 9mm I think...As well as me putting a red-dot, light, and laser on the BG at close quarters with my AR, i better not miss haha |
sorry guys, been really busy with work, will chime in later today!
|
Steve, if you ever decide to sell that 9/19 of yours, please let me know
