$269 is still a lot for the tint. So that means about $540 to redo his stereo? Damn that's a lot of money to be forking over. Why's he want it redone?

I love the sound of E60 M5's, but they don't have any torque.

I love how this sounds...wish my car sounded like that.

No, that's just my way of saying that I'm getting ready to leave. I've gotten from West Chester to the house in OCNJ in 1 hour and 15 minutes. Do not recommend attempting this, and definitely not before midnight

In again. Just got back from Exotic Customs. They are expensive. **** son. Tint price is ridiculous and what they wanna do to the bf's car is over 800$.

I got good (fantastic) results from Shades of Grey for around $200 something.

He's not getting sound out of ANYTHING. his speakers, sub... nothing. It's all just SILENT and it's killing him. He's probably gonna set up a meet with some buddies of ours to do it themselves. The people who wired his car did an awful job (according to EC...). The guy at EC was just like "my god, shops just don't know how to do this **** anymore, they always do a horrible job" blah blah blah. I know he wants our business... but he was like bragging about all the stuff he's done... like with Bam's lambo and stuff.

268 is way too much for tint. I wouldn't even think about getting it there. Shades of Gray all the way. The guy from EC was saying people do the back window in parts and stuff bc they get their side window sizes in bulk and really screw stuff up... and that they do ONE big sheet on the back window.

When I do audio work I always solder the connections. For example when I wire in headunits, I solder the radiator harness into an adapter so I don't hack the stock wiring. If I need a connector, it gets crimped on and then soldered.

If I could get north of $500 for a stereo install and get the business reliably, I would quit my job and do that. I've never heard more **** talked on in a profession than by stereo installers about others work ;) Fact is 90% of them are incompetent and the people who squeak the loudest are usually the most incompetent. It's not rocket science for sure.

They are indeed fast. I agree that exhaust is loud, but it gives me goose bumps every time I hear it.

Ok that makes more sense to us all now I think. Thank you

Twist the connection together on a pair - no solder, no connector, then wrap one length of electrical tape around it. Now take the second pair, twist together and add it to the first wrap. See how long it takes before cool stuff happens ;) That's a nice time bomb install if you dislike someone because the wire tips will slowly poke through the single layer of tape ;)

I've heard stories of the radio not working unless the windshield wipers were on, etc from circuit city. I don't even know how you would begin to screw up that bad. I mean there's predone harnesses for this stuff.

crazyduckme 08-13-2009 03:19 PM

Haha no problem. I would have explained it earlier, but I got tossed into an hour meeting!!

My boy just misses his loud music and crazy ass bass.

they can charge rediculous amount and run their mouth because most people dont know a dam thing about auto wiring and/or too afraid to mess something up.

wires scare people.

Solder then heat shrink.

I got half of the garage floor covered now...can't wait till it dries and I don't have to use stupid cardboard to prevent stains.

Indeed. I love this stuff. My old garage back in New Orleans had this and it was the best thing ever.

There's a guy at work who must be getting chemo or something because like 3/4 of his hair is suddenly gone. For some reason though he hasn't completely shaved it off. I wonder he's going for a new look.
