They can't ground me if he lives here, ha.

I wanna move out, but I'm not trying to spend on rent what I could be using towards a mortgage.

That's how I feel, that's why I'm just waiting to save money. My parents aren't making me pay rent or anything, I have cars all over the place. They are pretty leanient compared to when I was younger. But yeah worth saving then spending on rent.

That's how Reese feels about the situation as well. I understand where he's coming from, but everyone has to start somewhere. It's almost impossible to get approved for a mortgage these days, expecially with hardly any credit.

I agree. I don't mind starting at an apartment/townhome and working my way up to a house. The economy sucks now and its already hard enough getting an apartment, let alone a house.

omgjacki 08-13-2009 09:45 AM

He thinks he's gonna buy a townhouse, fix it, rent it out, and buy a house. I'd LOVE to know where this money is coming from. That **** is sooo much. I'll tell him to call me when he wins the lottery.

HickRocket1258 08-13-2009 09:45 AM

You say that now, but think about spending $400/month plus possible utilities, food, all sorts of ****. Ends up to probably be like $8k/year. I just don't want to be forking over money per month on something that I won't own and spend it on something that I could spend on mortgage per month. That my opinion.

ASIAN JUL 08-13-2009 09:58 AM

I just don't like the idea of renting, lol. Spending hundreds a month on a place that will never be mine seems like a tiresome tease!

I'd move somewhere with a cheaper housing market, lol.

I never said I would never rent, I just said I'd rather not.

Sorry that's assuming you are splitting with someone else. Mortgage payments with a decent down payment can be about $1100/month.

jpalamar 08-13-2009 10:11 AM

Owning a home costs alot more then an appartment. You have taxes, more utilities, and upkeep is higher then you can think. Stuff wears out, randomly brakes, and you need new tools to do stuff. I'm assuming most people here would be do it yourselfers to a point.
