Did you get a WBo2 yet? I can help you play with your afc and get an ok street tune out of it. I found an extra 20whp with mine at the dyno day. I still need dsmlink to get a good tune out of the car tho

97TurboDSM 04-12-2008 12:44 PM

yes ive had my wbo2 for a while now

WTF! so yesterday i was out on the town, went to campus then to the park. the trip to campus and to the park, everything was fine. when i was getting ready to leave the park, started her up and omg wtf. hit the gas and it sounds like a ****in subaru. literally getting a rumble out of the exhaust that sounds like a boxer engine. i dont know what the hell could have happened while it was sitting in the parking lot but i managed to get it home and looked over everything. tightened up a few clamps and started her up again, same thing. only happens at low rpms too. i dont know what happened, it really feels like a big vacuum leak somewhere but everything is buttoned up as far as i can tell. i have the battery disconnected right now in hopes that it will trick itself into not being retarded. the other option is that somehow something clogged up an injector while it was sitting and this is the result. i'll have to find another car to get some cleaner to dump in but i really am stumped this time. anyone have any ideas?

Kool-Aid 01-06-2009 02:45 PM

whens the last time you changed your plugs and wires? It could be as simple as that

mck52689 01-06-2009 02:46 PM

idk how but usually that sound comes from the spark plug wires when their mismatched, but if it was driving fine before idk why it would do that now, check those besides that im not sure, happend to me before didn't label the wires right for the dizzy and thats my result.

97TurboDSM 01-06-2009 03:03 PM

plugs and wires were replaced recently but i know i need new plugs cause the gap was way off for a while. its outside right now running some fuel and fuel injector cleaner through it. nobody around here sells the plugs i need so i have to order them and its a pain in the ass

Kool-Aid 01-06-2009 03:19 PM

that sucks well good luck and hopefully the cleaner helps

97TurboDSM 01-06-2009 04:10 PM

i just picked up some new spark plugs, gapping them now. fortunately a place nearby had them in stock for the first time ever.

Did you try doing an actual boost leak test on it, or you did you just look everything over? You said it sounds like a Subaru, but can you be a little more specific as to what it's doing? Does it die at idle? Does it drive really rough? Does it not let you go passed a certain RPM?

welcome to the ignore list, asshole.

97TurboDSM 01-06-2009 05:23 PM

Jess, i havent done a boost leak test on it yet but i know i do have a small one at the turbo/manifold gasket. it really sounded like a dead cylinder and only happened twice. the spark plugs were toast and putting in the new ones helped a bunch. i have parts waiting to go on that will take care of the boost leak, i've just been to lazy to order the last few buttons i need.
