The general rule of thumb is don't use reloads (overpressure) or +p ammo. Your GLOCK will outlast you. :) Any and every handgun out there has kaboomed at one point or another.

This is a picture of a Springfield XD with FACTORY ammo that kb'ed (picture taken and gun examined by gunsmith on another forum), XD's are supposed to have a supported chamber unlike the GLOCK, so people say they don't kb in the chamber. I made the photoshop, so excuse the poor quality.

Now post up pictures of that 37!

A moment of free time used for a quickly polished barrel.[originally just dull bare steel]

this thing is amazing, more comfortable than i thought a .40 cal would be.
think i wanna upgrade to the 357 glock

den9 12-22-2008 03:55 PM

u can put a 357 barrel in a 40 caliber. it will wear out the gun faster maybe, unless u upgrade the spring. on some guns atleast

I love those p22's, I'd like to get one soon. that 22 ammo goes a long way too.

enigma 12-22-2008 09:22 PM

garrettej8 12-22-2008 09:30 PM

I'm down for a range day. it's gotta be on a weekend and it's gotta be at state game land #43. it's the only outdoor range that's free around here. I've got like 400 rounds of .223 that I need to fire off lol

no brainer, get the AR before prices get even more retarded.

I'm in for a range day at SGL #43. I still have to sight in my BA50.

enigma 12-26-2008 10:26 PM

Yeah, i just picked up a Remington chambered in 223 today. Collapsable stock, camo, looks like this- http://www.remington.com/images/prod.../lgsil_r15.jpg

French creek?
I was just up there last weekend with my dads 30-30 trying to sight it in. Cold as a mudderfudder.
And holy crap, a BA50?

The BA50 is the 50 cal, and I haven't shot it yet, thus it's not sighted in.

enigma, how do you like that Remington? I haven't' heard much about them since they were released not too long ago, no accuracy or reliability reports that I can recall. It would be nice to have one posted up somewhere.

alwaysinboost 12-30-2008 09:20 AM

I need to get some pics of my recent purchase up here. Its nothing like what some of you have but I think its a nice carry gun.
I'm going to the range today at like one to kill some paper. I'll try and remember to bring my camera with me.

Archie 12-30-2008 12:30 PM

what do you have?

i actually started with a jennings 9mm witch is discontinued now, cant stand the thing and dont know what to do with it. i asked the dealer if i could trade it in and he told me to go to the police drop off and try to get a grocery vouvher for it![/QUOTE]

den9 12-30-2008 10:41 PM

Offer $600 cash and see if he bites...

The mags are about $35 each though, so you get over $100 in extra value in that $700. It's not a killer deal, but it's a fair price at $700. $600 would be a great deal.

And
http://forum.pafoa.org/firearms-6/43...-5000-max.html

Offer $500 cash, and work from there.

Also, these prices obviously include the transfer fee of anywhere from $10-40.

EDIT: DOH! Just realized earlier you said compact!!!

den9 01-03-2009 12:47 AM

thanks for the lookout, i seriously dont have any money at all, and if i did id probably have to hold on to it for emergency use. if i finally save some extra money im going for a 40 and 45 usp compact or a glock 26. thats been my plan for years now, although id love to have a nice rifle and scope.

DoubleOughtCel 01-04-2009 01:22 AM

One of the stores I frequent had a TEC-9 for sale yesterday for $340 in awesome condition, but I didn't know enough about the value of it to buy it. By the time I go back I'm sure it'll be gone. I had a one of the Mossberg 500 variants in my hands but when I opened the slide the chamber was all scratched to ****.....huge gashes on the inside of it. Def wasn't about to buy that POS.

dickerdieter 01-04-2009 04:24 AM

Ewwww if i am assuming correctly u mean a 500 variant by another company making a copy of the 500 I wouldnt go near it, but if u mean other mossberg product they arent bad, but go remingtom 870 if ur going for a nice pump shotty for cheap, i have an old Arizona Highway patrol remi 870 that i got for $100 out the door (they will withstand MANY more rounds than the mossbergs will, and a little used you barely pay any more)

No, it was a Mossberg, but there are about 25 different versions you can buy the 500 in from Mossberg. This was one that was originally very basic but the previous owner had slapped a bunch of parts on to make it look like a different version. The parts were right, but the work was done at home and looked like **** up close. plus, I didn't want that ****ty barrel to cause a round to blow up in my face.

got it, good decision my man:cool: haha

upperguy 01-04-2009 05:55 PM

anyone seen a decent bolt action .223 anywhere? I've been looking for something like a savage or tikka but trying to save some cash because I'm in no rush. I figure if I cant find one in the next week though I will just order it. I'm also looking for a used progressive press for reloading.

Anyway, TST group shoot? anyone want to set something up

It seemed like a nicely built rifle, but after i found out that i could only safely fire .223 in it, and not 5.56 and .223, i swapped it out for brand new bushmaster M4A3, same basic gun, only a little stiffer trigger, no full floating barrel, and all black. Plus the bushmaster has the chrome lined barrel(remington did not), and came with a larger mag(but its a crappy military-like issue). A3 sights are sweet too, once i get consistent with iron sights, i'd like to get a TA31. The M4 is a gem, i got about 100 rounds through it plinking at TM monday.

Ah, that stinks, I didn't know they only came in .223. 100 rounds isn't even through the "break-in period", keep shooting.

No thanks to the lady smith. It doesn't make for a very fun plinker . On the other hand, for a concealed carry gun for a trained user, it's a great choice.

And be careful with the word usage of who got who what...certain (multiple in this case) legalities involved.

blewby u 01-06-2009 05:40 PM

good to know. what's crazy is we live in philly near the tacoma bridge, and travel between pa and nj a lot - and in nj if they catch u with a gun, bullets or anything like that it's one year in jail mandatory and a felony. isn't that crazy? regaurdless of having a permit to carry in pa or not.

enigma 01-06-2009 08:59 PM

Yeah, i gotta find me some bulk ammo now.

malloyboy1 01-11-2009 01:29 AM

just wanted to put it out there that im a pround owner of a new oly ar 15 as of today......... woooohoooo

as for ammo check out cheaper than dirt.com

Jeffros Spec V 01-11-2009 01:41 AM

I was at the range today. My buddy and I shoot about 200 rds of 223 though his AR and 200 rds of 7.62x39 though a RPK

malloyboy1 01-11-2009 01:52 AM

what brand of rounds and what brand ar were you shooting i found a good deal on .223 rounds but when i read the customer reviews on the rounds it was split about 50/50 with great and horrible

Jeffros Spec V 01-11-2009 02:43 AM

The rounds we shoot were from a case of Remmington 223.

http://www.ar15pro.com/DisplayPic.aspx?PIC=40717

We didn't have a single problem and shot pretty well.

garrettej8 01-11-2009 11:33 AM

I usually run either wolf or silver bear through my AR. I've never had a problem with either and they are usually the cheapest online. I use aimsurplus.com or ammunitiontogo.com

den9 01-11-2009 11:35 AM

got a 1000 rounds of .223 for the AR in the mail last week, after like a month back ordered

den9 01-13-2009 04:56 PM

just picked up my permit today, walked out in 45 minutes, i thought it would take 2 weeks.
