All 4 of mine are impacted... none are bothering me. I went in for a consultation last week. The lowers are basically pointed right at the root of my 2nd molar which isn't uncommon. The doc showed me a situation where someone didn't get theirs removed and over time the impacted wisdom tooth rubs into the root of the molar until it wears away the rear half of the tooth, and causes a whole other slew of problems. He said that wouldn't necessarily happen to me, but it could.
I'm getting mine taken out soon... mostly because its covered by my current health insurance 100% and that could change at any time so I don't want to miss the opportunity here. Its gonna suck so I'm not looking forward to it though. The doc said that by day 3 I should start feeling normal again... is that not the case? |
