EEEEEK. My mom has one of those things. One of them malfunctioned a few years back, was spitting out way too much insulin. Ended up wrapping her Taurus around a telephone pole.

Agreed. And, yup, insulin-dependent Type 1 diabetic for just over 10yrs.

I've had the same problem, twice actually, but luckily, the sensor broke while I was priming it when I was changing it. Sorry to hear about your mom, her whip, and her pancreas. It's far too common these days (even though I'm sure she probably laps me in time haha)

My mom's a type 1 too....so many complications from it. I hope you neve rhave to deal with any of that crap

It's like an external pancreas that mimics what a real pancreas would do, i.e. give me insulin, and saves me from giving myself injections. However, there's a three-foot length of tubing that goes from the pump to the injection site that got snagged on my railing as I was flying down the steps and ripped it out from under my skin.
