Haha no because my quality of work probably wont be as great as yours. I will be spending some money on these products, but not even close to how much you do. This will only be for some side cash that I could use. I will keep to my own territory haha.

haha, all good. Get work son! You could always send the more intense details my way

I keep getting guys from other states wanting my work, which is great and all, but I'd like to get some interest from the local crowd. Word of mouth is typically the best way to get business as far as detailing goes, but I might "invest" in some publication and go posting it in some doctors offices and businesses.

Sweet, another thunderstorm starting!

Yeah I figured that word of mouth would definately be the easiest and cheap way. One of the people is from my work so that would help me out if they were to see the work done. And I agree, I would only want to do work for the local crowds as well. You only live like 15 minutes away. If anything I will cometo you for help haha.

haha feel free to ask, I'd be glad to help. My biggest issue that I still have is that I lost a lot of my pictures (hard drive crash) of the few exotics that I did AND took pictures of, when I worked for the dealership but they had an issue with bringing cameras in. They didnt even like that we had our phones with us, place was pretty strict, but regardless. I've detailed probably about 20 different Aston Martins, a Ferrari F430 and Testarossa and Gallardo and a handful of Bentley's among many other high end cars. I only have cell phone pics of the cars after I finished them/delivered them, and exotic car owners want pictorial proof that you've done exotics before....

That's my only struggle right now, I've lost out on a 997TT and a Vantage because of this, I'm beyond capable and familiar with many high end brands but whatre you gonna do.

HickRocket1258 07-29-2009 12:16 PM

Jese that's crazy that you had those kind of high end cars. I doubt I'd get anything like that but who kows.

DPancoast 07-29-2009 12:19 PM

Nick, can't you use the dealership as a reference with said cars you lost out on? Have them talk so the owners know you have done it before?

I've thought of that, but the reason that I left the dealership was because of new management/partial ownership. EVERYONE that was working there was released simply because the new part owner wanted his guys to replace them/us. So there were only about 2-3 guys that worked there when I was there the last time I stopped in. Which is gay, but thats the business world. However, the other dealership I recently left can vouch but I'd like to get my own work to speak for itself first and save that for the extremely picky people.

Some exotic owners could care less and toss me the keys to their cars, but they're also less likely to have their cars detailed until they wanna sell them. It's the really picky ones that will spend the money and come back once they're comfortable and thats the crowd I wanna capture. It's slowly working

DPancoast 07-29-2009 12:31 PM

That's cool nick, there's billions of cars everywhere. It'll work out

Holy **** is it raining. Don't fail me now t-top seals lol

HickRocket1258 07-29-2009 12:31 PM

Yeah. I have a lot of rich bitches in the development accross from me where like no house is less than like $800k so maybe I'll try to get word out there sometime. But yeah it's tough I can imagine.

Oakes 07-29-2009 12:36 PM

Yep, there are tons of neighborhoods like that around here. If you've ever been on the other side of West Chester going towards downingtown area, that's where all the BIG money hides, lots of custom homes and one off estates and you're much more likely to run into a Ferrari, Aston, top of the line Porsche, AMG Benz and so on. However, that area likes being left alone but at the same time very tightly inter-webbed with each other, 2 of my old bosses/dealership owners, live back there and they told me all about it.

DPancoast 07-29-2009 12:39 PM

Man the power has gone off and on like 10 times at my work

HickRocket1258 07-29-2009 12:47 PM

Meeshell 07-29-2009 01:29 PM

What the hell is with females hanging out in the bathroom talking for like 10+ minutes at a time?! Ugh and talking on their cells while going too? Don't people realize how gross bathooms are? And what the **** conversation is so important you can't have it while you're not sitting on a toilet?!

Does any of that happen in mens bathrooms or do guys acually get the concept of a room full of toilets?
