Just want to say I went to Shady Maple for lunch today... and last Friday... and it's an hour drive.

DocWalt 04-19-2014 01:31 AM

I'm so ****ing tired of cars and their bull****.

... I'm more tired of Craigslist and car forums, they just aren't what they use to be. Post something you have that's new, at 20% less then you paid, and people offer 50% of the price you have posted. :bigeek: Then get pissed off and have the nerve to rant that your price is too high. What happened to 3+ years ago when people actually paid realistic prices? If you don't see an 'obo'... don't make a damn offer. LOL

Also, been a bunch of break-ins locally here in Lewisberry PA area... unfortunately I live almost in the middle of all the places that have been robbed. ANYHOW, the 'KKK' visited a local community (1/2 mile away) and spread these out in everybodies yard/mailbox.

I'm really incredibly disappointed with the car "scene" and how it's evolved into doing things for as cheap as possible. I just spent a lot of money on a stroker crankshaft that I was told would work... nope. Now I have to sell that on (likely at a loss due to the ****tards you mentioned) and find a different one. I'm glad I'm not in a rush for this crap.

Got Insulin? 04-21-2014 06:18 AM

In my experience, the 75/50% concept has always been the rule of thumb for internet pricing of most of your common car parts with things like wheels and some other miscellaneous categories being obvious exceptions, so Yellow is about spot on.

You'll take a loss mostly because most people won't want to take a chance that you mishandled the crank in some way, but partially because strokers of any variety often cost a fair amount in machine work as well. Buying good parts cheaply is the name of the game for most of us. It just is what it is, man.

AWD GS 04-21-2014 06:51 AM

thats why i always hated selling cars/car parts on sites. you get low balled all the time and expected to pretty much give the stuff away.

DocWalt 04-21-2014 10:50 AM

In this case the stroker crank is simply a TDI crank, I just somehow ended up with one from one of the years that won't work for me. Should be easy to sell, but still at a bit of a loss... Pistons should be here soon, another crank should be on the way from Canada, and then the machine work can start.

jpalamar 04-21-2014 06:57 PM

Finally ordered my headers. Hopefully installing this weekend.

grimm 04-21-2014 07:29 PM

Home made ground beef, made of 3 cuts of beef and bacon, seasoned with batts big black brisket rub, stuffed with smoked cream cheese, colby jack mix, 5 whole jalapeņos, wrapped in bacon and dusted with plowboys yard bird rub.

jpalamar 04-21-2014 09:15 PM

We cut down a hickory tree at the beach house last year. Nice and seasoned if you need any. Needs to dry since its been rained on but there is a **** load.

grimm 04-22-2014 12:21 PM

yea man i would love some.

HickRocket1258 04-22-2014 02:19 PM

Hahaha, car parts and trying to sell them. Some people think their **** is worth something. Get a ****ing life, it's used. I will go low to get the item out of the garage, but only so far. Hope everyone is doing well.

Car scene sucks. Everybody just says, lets throw a bunch of money into the car, make a stupid amount of power and not learn how to get it to the ground. High hp doesn't do jack **** to me, about 1/4 mile times to me. More impressive to see a car with less power do the same time as someone with high horsepower.

I go low also on used stuff, just get pissed at people offering $500 shipped for a turbo kit that cost $860 and would take 3 boxes to ship it all.

mr_eh 04-22-2014 04:06 PM

I put 70k into my 240sx, sold it for 9700$ to a drifter who made a 501whp car into a 350whp car tubbed the front and swapped out a bunch of parts to make it drift better and go slower.

My thought on the situation = *shrug*

That I could understand, when it's going to cost you probably $100 to just ship the stuff.

That's just stupidity on his part, but exactly, just shrug.

DocWalt 04-23-2014 02:00 PM

Found someone willing to trade crankshafts for the one I need... I get the feeling that most of these people I deal with are in high school or they're not native english speakers. I guess that's what I get for dealing with VW people.

mcperson2k 04-23-2014 05:10 PM

I can't stand when people post things on Craigslist as 'New' when they clearly aren't 'New'... Cough cough. Maybe its got nothing to do with the actual sites, and more to do with the retard seller's impression of what the word new actually means.

jpalamar 04-23-2014 06:12 PM

Thats why I'm saving up to get into exotic cars.

Big_Jim 04-28-2014 10:41 AM

Got a new tire and an alignment for the mustang this weekend. Last thing to do is swap out the front o2 sensors, and it'll be good to go. Really starting to enjoy this thing again.

DocWalt 05-03-2014 04:45 PM

So... we got rid of my brother's old Golf finally. It didn't fit on the trailer right side up...

LOL. That's great!

Got my brothers e30 into second (final) stage of primer yesterday. Final blocked it late last night and it's sanded to 800 and wiped down ready for final masking and base/clear.

email has been down at work all morning... its crazy how much our hands are tied without it.
Verio's customer service BLOWS, for anyone wondering. Been listening to my boss on the phone with them for hours, not making much progress.

nsn240 05-14-2014 02:24 PM

Bored as bored can be, adding another one to the post count so I can sell parts to ye

mcperson2k 05-22-2014 07:21 PM

I need a nap, like pronto!

Bates 05-27-2014 02:06 PM

2014 Lexus LS460 rear ended me today. Lexus' collision detection technology that can apply the brake before an accident happens definitely needs some revamping cause it no work well.

grimm 05-27-2014 02:18 PM

ahh leaving things up to technology. so who's fault is it? Lexus's or the driver? LOL

Bates 05-27-2014 02:28 PM

Both! Someone driving a brand new $70,000+ car should be paying more attention and Lexus should test their technology before they tout its awesomeness (watch this technology have a recall on it in another year or 2. Lol). Thankfully he was super nice, I got all his info and will send him the quote. He works in the building next to me too so he can't escape me.

DocWalt 05-27-2014 05:14 PM

woo, finally getting lasik.

grimm 05-28-2014 10:55 AM

I have an opportunity to switch to an HTC One (M7) or keep my iPhone 4s and hope to get the 5 soon? Thoughts?

Big_Jim 05-28-2014 11:55 AM

how soon is soon? with WWDC coming up, i wouldnt be surprised if apple is going to hint around at new phone hardware.

I've used iOS in the past, and I just cant get comfortable with it. I think the screen size is what draws me away from the iPhone the most. I've been using android for the past 2 years, and I've had an iPhone during that time as a secondary line, and I've stuck with the android OS.

The major deterring factor for me with both phones you posted is the fact that the batteries are not user replaceable.
