I tip my hat to your dedication sir...damn, my cousin had a 1G DSM, when it was new, but I was too young to care about it. I can't believe what you guys have to go through. I'm pissed off at my STI throwing a damn code for being catless yet I have a 4ohm electrical fix. Glad I don't have to deal with anything like this though!
haha i appreciate that. its really a love hate relationship with these things. i love my car to death but sometimes she can be a royal bitch. im just glad its been nothing major and to be honest i really kinda put myself in this situation since i knowingly bought a car that wouldnt pass PA state emissions and inspection and neglected to do anything about it till 5 months later lol...

ok, before anyone says anything, let me just say that I already know I'm a huge idiot. So now that's out of the way, lemme get to the problem. So today I took a spark plug out to see what the deal was with them, turns out they're shot. awesome. anyway, I went inside and set the plug down to get at it later. meanwhile, I left the hood open with the cylinder exposed, and guess what, it rained. With the hood open there shouldn't be a huge chance that any water got in there, but in the case that some did..what are my options? can I just leave it open when its sunny and let the water evaporate or is that small amount of water not going to be a problem. I had my hood closed very shortly after it started to rain. I'm afraid to try and start the car and then have it lock up. Laugh all you want, but in the midst of that laughter, any advice would be appreciated.

Maybe you can get a vacuum down there? I don't know dude..I know there is **** to absorb/get rid of water in a gas tank..but for that? PM teh_dirt, he had water in his car. I'd suggest draining it entirely!
i mean if it was anything it was maybe a drop. the valve cover wasnt wet but im not totally sure whether or not any water got in the lil hole
I highly doubt anything got in there, seriously. I'd do an oil change to be safe, then fire it up and make a pass.
Get a flashlight and look. If not rig up a vaccum.
im doubting anything got in either, but at the moment i cant really spare a dime so i guess im gonna have to wing it lol. if it seizes it seizes.

i'm not gonna lie...you're pretty stupid..haha ehh..you should be alright, throw some new plugs in there, do an oil change, and fire it up. I highly doubt you got water in there.
looks really clean i like it.
thanks man...welp, started her up today and let her run for a while and saw no ill effects of the rain last night. didnt get a chance to change the plugs but will do that asap.
