Ford trucks haven't been around for a 100 years because they are POS. they are good trucks. i think everybody knows its a International engine. all the major brands of trucks have there issues. if you really think different you are an idiot.

Ford trucks are very hit or miss, I'd never buy a 6.0 a lot of my friends have problems with them. Lifting heads, blowing head gaskets snapping cranks and a lot of trans problems, most of my dodge friends have trans problems and dodge trucks rust bad. I love my duramax but they aren't without their problems the allison isn't as good as people think, it can't hold the power a chipped truck will make they slip real bad

Unimogs are badass. No denying that.

My dad had a '97 PSD and now has an '04 with the 6.0. Only issues he had with the '97 were the cam sensor failing every so often, and he went through two trannies. He did have a Banks powerpack installed on it though, for a 7500 lb truck, the damn thing was surprisingly quick.

With the 6.0, it's only been in for recalls, but he did buy the extended warranty just in case.

Honestly, I'd go for a clean 7.3 PSD. Best bet out of all the trucks. My 2nd choice would be a Cummins, with the 6-speed manny trans.

7.3 is not the best, a 12 valve with a 6 speed or a suncoast or ats trans is the best hands down

The only 3 trucks I have owned.

The Chevy pickup towed a Ford on 44's a mile through the trails dragging a blown axle/bearing no problems. Little 305 that could.

I always like seeing that 2nd picture. I miss my '72.

the mike 12-25-2007 04:37 PM

Yeah, I miss that truck. I freaking gave it away too...

Oh ya, that was from when I bought it. If you're still interested in seriously buying it, shoot me a PM.

If I didn't have so many projects, I would. Plus I'm going to a classic car auction this month to possibly pick up a couple more Mini's, a couple Isetta's, and a Goggomobile. A full size truck project would just be in the way, physically and financially.

Thats cool. I just have to put the trans in so it has 3 gears instead of 2 and its good to go, no other major work needed. I'd hate to sell it but could always use the $.
