it should be the other way around petey!

Supraholic 08-28-2007 11:38 PM

I say get a Supra, but I'm biased...

I've had both and prefer the Supra. It all comes down to personal preference. Some of the info the guys posted here is correct. Both cars are high maintenace...choose which one you like best and start modding!

Have fun.

empera 08-29-2007 12:00 AM

click his build thread and u will want a supra ;)

peteyturbo 08-29-2007 12:04 AM

Stop it!! lol
I have alot more invested in the 7 and it makes sense, I'd be stupid not to..Plus the RX7 is like over 1000lbs lighter!!!

You also have to consider power to weight ration. You can squeeze more power and torque out of the Sup. If you wanna drag and spend less, then go the RX7 way. Supras are GT cars. They weren't meant for dragging.

peteyturbo 08-31-2007 09:15 PM

Yes, exactly my point, I am building the car to be a drag car, but the 13b can make just as much if not more pwer in an insane setup as the 7MGTE..2200lbs, ford 9 inch rear, huge slicks and 500hp..It will be called "El Chuppacabra"!!!!

I was at wildwood the last week and found a good deal on a non-turbo porsche 944 but i figured the shop time and parts would be expensive b/c well, it's a porsche what do u guys think about these cars

i should have just named this thread help me pick a car...
i drove my friends jeep offroad the other day and i've been offroad in it b4, it's so much fun so i figured b/c i like going fast and slidin around offroad that wouldn't an awd be the best choice, i have always been mostly into rwd but now idk what to do...
basically here's what i want:
-something reliable enough that i could drive it at least 75% of the time (so not a dsm... hahaha)
-either rwd or awd
-manual
-idk on how much i can spend yet but i no for sure in the 5k-10k range tops

help me out... (btw the mkIII and fc are still options, no trucks)

here's the cars i was thinking: fc, mkIII, celica gt-four/all-trac, an older subaru (90's maybe), 944...

help me out, thanks

avoid the celica gt4s. They're great cars, but parts are IMPOSSIBLE to find

92dxman 09-13-2007 02:44 PM

Have you considered an E30 3 series?

no, i don't really want a bmw though

nissan4life 09-14-2007 02:56 PM

i think i'm definetly go with like 98',99',00' subaru... easy to find parts for, pretty reliable, and i've already found a couple good deals around my area on the 2.5 RS's, so now i just have to wait a few months so i can get the money together... i'll eventually get a project mkIII that i won't use for a daily driver

Dude, at that point, it comes down to preference. For what you will pay for a 500hp 13b, you can have the same 1/4 mile time if you have the 7M.

Obviously, the 7M will have more power
13b are maxed out at about 800hp.

Checkout http://gtepowered.com

I just added a dragster to the site with 1300+ hp 7M with stock crank!
