And about the treaty.....(and this is going to sound really dumb) didn't we own a piece of Japan up until a few years ago as part of an agreement and then gave it back? Or was it China? I'm confuzzed.

England owned a piece of china and gave it back...8 years ago I think

Failure to register or otherwise comply with the Military Selective Service Act is upon conviction, punishable by a fine of up to $250,000, imprisonment for up to five years, or both. In addition, federal and certain state laws require registration as a prerequisite for obtaining student financial aid, job training, government employment, and U.S. naturalization

Well, they didn't get me yet. If they sent it again or knocked on my door, I'd sign it without a second thought. It just wasn't a priority for me at 18 years old .

goodfella732 07-31-2007 09:43 PM

Wasn't for me either but I need to sign it so I could get my financial aid for school at the time. I forget how they work the whole draft system anyway. I believe they start at people age 25 and work their way down to 18. So really, when you first sign up, you got some waiting before they come to your name. If the draft gets to the 18 year old list, I think we are pretty ****ed then.

Selective service lasts until you're 25 I believe...

Now, name the last time we had a draft...

Every male has to fill one of these out when they turn 18. Its law. You get arrested and fined big time to not filling it out. If you're not willing to fight for our country in the event of a MAJOR crisis... then.... **** off

He doesn't even deserve that long of a response.

ItalianBlaze, get out of this country. I bet you don't know even 1% of how the government and the military works. Stop acting like you know how wars are started.

ITSTOCK 08-01-2007 05:43 PM

They are started for oil. That's why we have wars, so that the gov't can make money off the deaths of american service men and women. They also sell the dead service men/womens organs on the black market for further profit.

DUH.

At least I bet that's what his hippy professor tells him and the rest of the class.

Chair-Force 08-01-2007 07:02 PM

I thought the Iraq War was started so we could practice killing babies?

Hmmmm

italianblaze 08-01-2007 07:15 PM

You didn't know what the selective service is? I don't really see how you can even have an opinion on the topic when you had to read on wikipedia about the selective service.

cranshinibon 08-01-2007 08:40 PM

i was told, when i was 18, that if you dont sign up they automatically sign you up anyway. the fines arent a guarantee, i think theyre just there to make you sign up so its easier for the government.

italianblaze 08-01-2007 08:48 PM
