i think its semifinals now and then finals at night... not positive though.

I dont care what anyone says, Shaun White KILLED it tonight. Totally deserved his medal. He was going at least 5 feet higher than the other guys and he pulled that double mctwist 1260 with NO speed... I mean cmon.

props to the 19 year old riding for the US as well.... its a shame he didnt pull it together.

TROLL 02-18-2010 02:04 AM

yeah shaun is the man... i wish there was some more competition though. i think after the flat out domination this year everyone else will be aiming high for future contests though... i love following the progression of the sport.
not long ago that the first 1080 was thrown and it rocked the snowboarding world... now that **** is boring, lol.

DPancoast 02-18-2010 02:08 AM

haha yeah I remember seeing the first 900 in skateboarding and being like, WUT?!

then Tony Hawk did it when the X Games was in Philly and I had a chance to go and see it live (crazy)....

now they're doing 1260s with 2 flips on top of that....

dudes are crazy. I'm lucky if I can do a 540 anymore, and I will never do backflips again after breaking my collarbone. oh well lol.. womens downhill skiing was pretty intense too. That one lady had to have broken her ankle when she bailed on the last jump sideways.

abrok99 02-18-2010 02:12 AM

can someone post the shaun white video of whatever he did lol. i missed it:(

DPancoast 02-18-2010 02:17 AM

DPancoast 02-18-2010 02:38 AM

looks like they are talking about mr white right now so if you go there and watch for a couple mins they'll show his runs tonight again

doug 02-18-2010 10:03 AM

that run was sick.. its crazy his victory lap scored even higher than his gold run.. LOL.

WhiteXFire 02-18-2010 03:06 PM

Not that anyone really cares about this sport, but since they're showing so much of it on TV I have to say...

The US men's and women's curling teams are HORRIBLE!!

grimm 02-18-2010 05:08 PM

i love curling i really can't say why but i think it's fascinating.

DPancoast 02-18-2010 05:15 PM

Im interested to see the girls throw down in the half pipe. I think its on tonight at some point.

wonder if the ladies have stepped up to flips yet. otherwise their runs are just so boring

TROLL 02-21-2010 04:35 AM

I found out that I totally dig watching short track skating... its action packed!
Bummed the US didn't finish stronger tonight but we still got a couple medals tonight.

They started pretty terrible, but they have won some good matches. USA beat GBR yesterday and USA men beat France.

Note: Shaun White is the only snowboarder in the world landing that 1260 thingamajig trick he pulled up in his victory lap.

Scapegoat 02-21-2010 10:22 PM

yeah and he had NO SPEED lol...

then again I haven't heard a lot of people being like "yeah so, big deal?"

like at all haha... I'd love to see him do that HUGE like he does the double corked 1080.

Been watching a lot of curling lately... it's pretty cool.

TROLL 02-22-2010 01:57 AM

I don't understand how they call that a 1260 though... badass trick so I wont nitpick, but I do not see 3.5 spins + 2 flips... more like 1.5 or 2 spins + 2 flips.

Whatever he does it is badass and better than I could ever do in 10 lifetimes.

DPancoast 02-22-2010 02:01 AM

Bryan, I was skeptical at first as well, but after watching the footage a ton, there's 3 spins there. It's very disorienting to the eye when flips and spins are being done together in excess like that lol
