yea ya lalways gotta take that into consideration, i mean come on, jeremy said "of all the cars ive driven this year im pretty sure this one (rx8) is the best".....the rx8 is a great drivers car while over here they sell 2,000 a year....weak!

imo ...im on team corvette here, its a great performance car i mean 70k wont buy u much and the zo6 is a supercar.....i have two friends whose dads own a c6 and i have been on many scary rides....im still warmin up the oen dad to let me drive it. u bet ur ass when i do im postin results....anyway 70k is a great deal since the viper is 90 and the ZR1 should set the vette to over 100k

i would grab one of those supercharged exiges for 60 tho....hmmmm

No doubt the C6 Z is not a luxury car, but it is far, far from primitive.

And it never ceases to amaze me the stupid comments that cleanneon comes out with. "Very little class"..... Your ignorance is matched only by your stupidity.

If you want a car that's race inspired and outperforms basically every other car near it's price range in basically every category, look no further than the C6 Z06 (for now). Everyone has their own taste and their own interests in cars...I know I was mesmerized by it when it first came out, but now that I could have actually bought it, I decided I wanted more in a car on top of performance (luxury, exclusivity, etc). So, while it has certainly come a long way from having "very little class", especially with the LT4 package in the regular vette coming out, I certainly wouldn't go so far as to call it luxury...it's just not meant to be that kind of car.

What do you mean LT4 in the regular Vette?

enigma 09-23-2007 09:30 AM

The list is crap.

I'm assuming he means the NON Z06 Vette. Suppose to be an LT4 producing 430bhp for 2008 base model Vettes.

this is one of the few times i'll side with alex. but i think he meant to word things differently. until recently the corvette has been a gaudy plasticy mess. in the 90's car and driver referred to it as a rolling embarrasment to america until you stand on the gas. now like i said they are getting better but they still dont quite match the competition. in fact when judging a vette on must look only at its performance numbers not ergonomics and even then i have a hard time taking them seriously because of how long it took to equal the LT5's performance with pushrods. the LSX series is awesome. no questions there. but how much more awesome would the LT5's children have been had they been given continued develpoment? Halo cars are supposed to showcase new technologys right? hope some of this made sense i just woke up.

cliff notes: I like vettes, i wish they were more serious

NM its an option package not an engine, only gm would use an engine code for an option package. way to confuse everybody a-holes

DSMTJ 09-23-2007 02:21 PM

Yeah it's an option package opps. That's what I get for posting after working 16hrs and no sleep haha.

There are quite a few packages for 2008 if I remember correctly.

TurboTagTeam 09-23-2007 02:26 PM

lol 50/50 weight distribution and 3132 lbs, 505hp and 470ft/lbs of torque.
And it handles like Jenna Jameson on a flesh rod.

WhiteXFire 09-23-2007 02:38 PM

Yeah, it's a new trim package for 2008, I think it's actually coded 4LT and not LT4 (though I've seen it both ways). Even the non-Z06 now with the LS3 is a great performance car for the price.

Why all the hype wit the Z06? The porsche 996 GT2 has the same stats. Is it the greatist car of all time too?

WhiteXFire 09-23-2007 02:51 PM

Oh, btw, the same option for the interior is available on the Z06 as the LZ3/3LZ package for 2008.

Yeah but, what's the price tag of the 996 GT2?

CleanNeon98 09-23-2007 03:12 PM

The reason I think the z06 didnt make it to the top is because of a few things. Yes it has great performance, yes it has great price, but judging by what top gear said (and i dont agree or disagree with this because i dont know firsthand) its not a car you would want to drive every day because of its road manners. However, even with that drawback, I dont understand why it isnt on the list at all. From my experience, every american car ive known had some kind of quality issue. My friends 02 cavalier Z24, we opened the door and a quarter size piece of paint just chipped off for no reason, buddies 03 envoy, at least 6 trim pieces are already out of place, 95 mustang same trim issue, my old neon had rattle galore. I definately think the vette should be on the list because of its amazing performance, but not at #1 is for sure

TurboTagTeam 09-23-2007 03:12 PM

Who cares about price? If you have enough money to spend $70,000 on a toy. You can spend 120,000 on a toy.

At least thats the way I look at it.

doug 09-23-2007 03:20 PM

For 500+ hp, and a 70,000 price tag for such a car.. i'd look past a few interior rattles. Hell, my 307whp 35k car has them.. and I look past them.

No, not everyone can push 120k. That's why it's the poor mans sports car. I'd rather have a new Z06 over a posrche, but thats just my opinion.
