The auto trans in the Supra isn't some 5 dollar trans like in a Honda or Subaru. They shift faster then a 6spd, can brake boost better, and will launch harder off the line. This is fact.

I personaly wouldn't want an automatic either.

But, they are just like F-bodies. The auto is more consistent and usually ends up going faster too. Ever seen a 600whp Supra dyno? I almost died. It was awesome.

LOL personally i would still want a manual not at that kinda of power u can really do anything but go in a stright line but hey i have awd so what do i knwo anyway. And getting 600 to the ground well there is a problem in itself.

he's right an auto is faster when power output is up in those areas + on a straight away. That is, with the properly selected transmission and components.

btw who's car is that? and what is done to it? because last built gt/x/r combo that ive seen dyno wasn't putting anything NEAR those numbers @18psi. (Which was adam on the full stand alone, gt head, gtx block, gtr turbo @ 25psi w/ CS personal tuning)


i dont doubt the car is fast as we both know for $1000 motor swap you can have a mid 13 second escort stock, but to think he's putting down almost 350whp on a stock GT bottom end blows my mind.

**edit i read the post and the fact that he's only hooking up for a 13.2 sucks, especially with the mods. Remember Mysta busting a 12.9 on a 3inch D/P @18psi stock gtx w/ stock tires?

Is the second half of that vid from in the Escort? The solo run is in a Ford, the steering wheel is a dead giveaway.
