the stripe. the reflector between the tail lights has nothing on it, and the door says gts.

that's it.

a few updates since im in here:

-i've got a built motor for the car (2.7L,eagle rods, ross pistons, head work, etc..)
-Huge brake kit from U.S. Brake
-Autopower 4 Point roll bar
-Megasquirt standalone
-Some Carbon Fiber goodness (itll all get painted)
-etc...

i need to prep the car for paint, and get it sprayed so i can start reassembling here

im hoping to have the car done early into the spring track season

03.5MSP 01-21-2008 04:03 PM

WOW, its looking really nice. Cant wait to see it all painted and put back together.

FazdaGt 01-24-2008 11:04 PM

ive got almost everything i need to re assemble her the way id like, but the cold weather has put a hold on body and paintwork so im at a minor standstill.

Well i'm finding time to get the car ready for paint and to put it back together.

ive got it mostly stripped and ready to start body work this week, the hatch wire tuck is 95% complete and with some sanding itll be ready for paint.

engine bay is nearly ready to go as well.

you'll see my wiring harness on the ground in one of the pics, im figuring out what needs to stay and what needs to go and re-wrapping everything so its nice and neat.

I needed a break from the attention to detail of the little things so i started installing the PMO F88i big brake kit i have as well.... to my surprise, my f's clear with no issues so that made my day.

you'll also see my CF pieces, all of it will be painted, i hate the look but i mocked it up because i know some of you would like to see it.

anyway, here you go...

many more updates to come in the next month, and hopefully by the beginning of april she'll be on the roads again.

and the heart of the beast, a 2.7l TKT big bore ze/de mix.

more details on that to come when i tear it down somewhat to check things over, swap oil pans etc...

2.7l? god damn. lol.

HuffRex 02-05-2008 10:49 AM

who did u get that 2.7L off of? Its coming together quite nice!

FazdaGt 02-05-2008 04:40 PM

i told you i had some surprises jon haha

i got the engine in a "parts car"

from a guy named matt on pt (im2gq4u01)

it was in an orange 94 gt, the car was hacked pretty well but the engine was the main reason i bought it.

now ive got a useless orange shell with a hacked wiring harness.

ive heard many many bad things about the tkt kit, but its been in that car for years and had about 2K miles on it with no major issues, so i'll check things over and hope for the best.

UPDATES

I've finally gotten to the point where the body work is getting completed.

the car is unrecognizable right now.

http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q...daGt/jk016.jpg

I project paint/body to be done within' two weeks.

this is a FULL respray, engine bay, door jams, hatch, hatch interior, exterior.

i'm all for OEM style so the new color is as she left the show room floor in 97' Ford Rio Red....sneak peaks soon i hope.

And as you can see i've got a lot to accomplish, but it'll get done.

and a few things awaiting some work and an install....

I hope to be driving by the end of april.

enjoy!

updates!

Well, progress is slow...but i want to make sure i get everything exactly the way i want it this time.

things were getting cluttered so i took the day to organize my disaster.

looked like i was having a probe garage sale
http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q...Gt/jk003-1.jpg
http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q...Gt/jk002-1.jpg

but i promised an update:

well, the roll bar is welded in, and the engine bay, door jambs and hatch area all have a nice new coat of rio red.... the prep work in that hatch was insane i don't recommend removing the sound deadener and painting your hatch!

i'll be doing some wetsanding and then another few coats of clear on these but here's so far:

CHAOS 03-11-2008 06:28 AM

PhillyLS1 03-11-2008 02:48 PM

Badass man. I love how you've got this thing to come together. You have to respect all the hard work you've done.
Just don't put those tan seats back in ;)

look forward to more mang

RyanG 03-11-2008 03:01 PM

thanks a lot... the hard work is paying off, i just hope the end result is as promising as the progress.

and the tan seats are now my perfect video game seats at the house.. haha, didnt you catch the glimpse of the pretty uncomfortable look corbeaus :-p

I've got a love hate relationship with PT (probetalk) but the guys over there seem to love the car as well...i enjoy helping the younger guys out, steering them in the right direction. and i never have trouble selling old parts, they all love having something that was on this car haha

EvlEgl 03-11-2008 03:41 PM

Sexy :)

UPDATE

While droppping the engine in is a major step to some, it was one of the simpler tasks i have left.

well, it's in and looks nice in the fresh rio red bay.

i plan on being "finished" in about a month, parts delays are holding progress up a lot though
