not lame, you know your car was loud when the wastegate opened doug

the reason we have the sound level restrictions is b/c across the airfield is an assisted-living home, and the only way we can race at the old air field is if we keep the neighbors happy i.e. keeping the sound level down to a dull roar  your car definitely is much louder than a dull roar lol

No.. lame that the area sucks.. I like the course and all.. but I will not go there and spend 35 dollars if my car cant be loud. I enjoy loud cars.. I don't care if others dont :)

edit: I'll go to cecil/atco/roadcourse and be as loud as I want :P

1988 Olds 02-22-2006 07:57 AM

Yeah man I agee, but got to give the old people what they want or there won't be any racing there at all.

05sti 02-27-2006 01:10 PM

i will definitely be there. i was the black sti with black tint. #03 sm. judging by what you guys have said about noise levels im thinking i might have to bring out the silencer for the first time. I'm really excited for this autox cause it will be the first autox with my new coilovers

fair enough :)

btw, a number of people who's cars appeared to be really loud never hit the dB limit...i know my Spec V was loud as hell but it didn't hit the max reading

you could always just let off for a second at the dB meter location

Twin_Cam 03-01-2006 09:42 AM

I would be there....but it's the day after St. Patty's Day. And uhhh, yea. You know how that goes.

05sti 03-01-2006 11:12 AM

what is the db limit? im guessing mine is well over 100. especially after the many shotgun fireballs that shoot out

you may be surprised....a lot of the scoobies that i thought were pretty loud didn't hit the max dB limit

they announced at the last event that the limit is 94dB iirc.....if you have a silencer, bring it with you just in case, if you don't have a silencer you can just lift off for a split second as you go past the meter so you don't go over the limit (if they gave you a warning)

besides, lifting for a split second isn't really going to make much of a difference for the majority of the people on here anyway since they aren't going to be fighting for first in class or anything (not b/c you lack the skill but b/c you're new to autoxing)

Hey, you guys try "celebrating", then waking up and leaving here at 6 AM so you can drive 2 hours home/to the auto-x site and be there at 8. Forget that. Plus I have friends visiting and they're sleeping over, so I can't leave. That would be rude.

Then again, I would be able to drive the hatch, right Adam? :(
