I looked into AD holsters before buying my MTAC. I would still like to get one or a Raven, but I'm not sure how I'll like OWB concealed. I've only tried it half-assed with my Serpa CQC with both my Sig and my M&P, but it was impossible to pull off. It's basically OC anyway. lol.

Munky 04-07-2011 05:55 PM

Yeah Serpa's are definitely NOT for any type of concealment what so ever. I have tried and tried and tried with mine and it just won't happen. I really like the ADH because they ride nice and tight (with a good belt). With a jacket on you'd never know it was there. Same goes for a button up or polo (untucked). But since I primarily OC now a days it doesn't really bother me too much. The wait time sucks ass tho on ADH & Raven. My buddy found a good deal on a similar holster on eBay for $40 shipped and I also have a similar holster from Gun Dealers Online out in Lancaster that I picked up for $45+tax. If I stop being lazy today I'll snap some comparison pics of all the holsters so you can see for yourself. The nice thing about the place in Lancaster is not only will he make you a customized holster for whatever gun you want (if it's something odd he asks you leave it there for a day or two so he can make the molds), but you can pick it up usually within 1-2 weeks rather than 3-4 months like ADH & Raven. And they're like $10-20 cheaper than ADH depending on what you customize on it.

Here's some shots of one of my new holsters that came today. Showing the comparison to my old holster.

They both have their strengths and weaknesses. All in all I'm happy with them both but if I could combine what I like about the both of them into one holster I would have the perfect holster IMHO.

SvicksTc 04-08-2011 12:05 AM

wow i cant believe the gundealer one didnt even fully cover the trigger....I would like the atomic dog undoubtedly for just that reason alone

Yeah to be honest I never noticed it until the ADH came in today . Then I was like "oh look it doesn't cover the trigger...:bigeek:" I've never had an issue with it tho. But like I said they both have strengths and weaknesses. I have a list of things I would take from both to make one ultimate OC holster. Now if only I could make one LoL.

Pretty good reliability test, imo. I had well over 500 rounds total through it before it finally jammed.

Because of this I'm contemplating swapping .380 carry ammo over to hornady critical defense for the "soft tip" thingy that makes sure the hollow point expands. I'm expecting that design to have less of a chance of getting hung up on the feed lip due to the round nose. Thoughts?

ya I got critical defense in mine. firs time at the range with it the other day, blasted through 100 rounds with out a single hickup. glad I got the grip extender though, my sausage hands need it, lol

South Phila Archery and Gun Club are having a Glock day tomorrow (Sat Apr. 9). There are Glocks rep's on location. You will be able to shoot each model in the range without paying for range time. Last year i was able to sample the 45 acp, 45gap, and the 10mm. It made choosing which pistol to buy a lot easier. The price is really low too on Glock day. Just wanted to give you all a heads up in case you are condsidering a Glock soon.

I carry Critical Defense as well. I've put a mag or two through my gun to find out if it works, but never that much... the **** is expensive..

I dont remember if told everyone here but if your a fan of 10mm. Check out Double Tab Ammunition's Equalizer. It is a hollow point round and a ball all packed into one shell. You pull the trigger once and you get 2 holes.

rodder 04-08-2011 11:09 AM

Man I would love to hit that up but I'm going out to Harrisburg for work. Someone tell me if they have a Gen3 Glock 34 on hand and tell them to put it on hold for me :rotfl:

s*** I'm sorry man, I just now scanned back through the posts and saw where you asked who was going. Yes, I'll definitely be there. My friend is about 50/50 at this point, but he doesn't take up much space so if he decides to show up I don't think you guys will care. lol.

Are you guys planning on food-ing and hanging out for a while or are you just shooting for a bit and taking off? I can bring whatever you want, just let me know. Also, I just need an address to enter into mapquest. PM it to me if you want.

~Brian~ 04-08-2011 03:50 PM

So does anybody know a good scope that I can put on my .35 Rem Marlin that can handle the recoil but will cost under $80? Looking to buy soon so I can go out to the range and have some fun

It will be pretty busy there saturday.

I am sure if you call they will give you a price and put one aside for you with a deposit.

Munky 04-08-2011 04:03 PM

I doubt they'll even have one . Finding one of these is like finding a needle in a hay stack apparently. I've been striking out everywhere.

Good meeting you rob, ill post some pics of the usp when my suppressor comes in.

So recently I sold the AR-15, Sig Sauer P229 & my Mossberg 590a1. But never fear I bought a new gun today so I can get into competition shooting. http://www.iamletired.com/forums/ima...esomedance.gif

It's a Springfield Armory XD-9 Tactical. Full 5" barrel + 16rnd mag!!! http://www.iamletired.com/forums/ima...ited%20Kid.gif

Full specs: http://www.springfield-armory.com/xd.php?version=98

The one I'm getting is brand new but here's a pic I found on the web so you can see it.

I also have my local shop tracking down a Glock 34 for me as well since there are literally none in existence right now apperantly. http://www.clubautomotion.com/forum/...s/paranoid.gif
