Anyone knows a good outdoor range. something that goes out 100+ yards minimum? I want to sight in 10/22 and see the range on an old school mouser.

99corvette 01-07-2015 05:13 PM

Hate to say it but a lot of these ranges around the area aren't taking new members and they have a good amount of people on waiting list.

was at higher ground tactical in Emmaus this week. Rented and shot a G19, definitely my favorite hand gun i've shot, Either going to choose that or the M&P 9 for my first personal hand gun. Thoughts?

I never fired the M&P 9, but I would suggest trying the H&K VP9 if you can before you make your decision. I like the G19, too.

HatchSurfer3 01-12-2015 01:35 PM

Thanks for all the thoughts and opinions guys.

Rocknrace, I enjoyed the MP9 when I shot it. I don't own one but put some rounds down range a while back.

Ak guys theirs a new trigger coming to market next month, ALG Defense AK trigger that is a sister company Geissele. They are local to me, already own a s3g trigger in my ar15 and I have to say its one of the best triggers I have ever used to date on a ar15. Price point is great as well, The standard trigger at around $50 and an enhanced at around $75. I will be buying the enhanced trigger for my arsenal krink when it comes out. Anybody interested in a brand new, unfired Gen 4 Glock 19?

Still got this? PM me a price....

CleanNeon98 06-15-2015 08:42 AM

Started sighting in my AK better a few weeks ago. I have the Iron Tech-Sights on it so it's a bit of a time consuming process between adjusting the rear and the front. I got it laterally, just need to bring it up a little. At 50 yards, I was banging a set of 4 steel plates (3", 5", 8", and 10") pretty consistently. The only problem is that I was aiming consistently about a foot below the targets. Not sure if I should adjust, or leave it that way so I can still see POA at distance. It doesn't have the sliding rear sight anymore. This is the setup

Sorry, I sold it a few weeks ago.

Does anybody have an Mtac holster in Chestnut that they are willing to part with?

*edit- found one.

97TurboDSM 09-04-2015 05:13 PM

I'll chime in here, picked up a Springfield XDs 4" .45ACP a few months ago. No complaints here.

Nice. My first gun was a Springfield XDm .40. Great product, wish I never sold it.

That's really nice. Will be a snappy little thing too.

I want to do some mods to my Colt 6721 Carbine

Looking to keep the upper and lower black
FDE stock
FDE grip
FDE mags
FDE handguard (free float)
low profile gas block
Some kind of scope mount and scope

Looking at the Nikon P-223 3-9x40 with the BDC600 reticle for $150, or the Nikon P223-3x32 "carbine". Shooting for now at a max of 200 meters, which scope would be better for me?

CleanNeon98 12-06-2015 11:23 AM

Well the rifle is done. Got a Geissele SSA-E trigger but was not installed for this target. 10 shots all on the 8" target shooting from a rifle rest with my friend's handloads using Hornady soft points (which I dont care for because they get boogered up and I'm sure it changes how they fly)

http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/b...psqofkwtjs.jpg

Here's the rifle

http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/b...pswaafudbp.jpg

Anyone here play with Kalashnikov rifles? I have an old WASR 10-63 that I am putting a nice new Magpul Zhukov stock set on. While the front is all apart we're going to make sure the gas tube and the front sight post are aligned correctly, since I think I am a bit canted on the front post. I am not expecting AR like accuracy from it, especially with the cheap wolf crap I shoot with it, but hits on a torso sized target out to 200/300 yards would be nice to attain and the rifle should be capable. I will do groups at 50 and 100 yards and see if it's worth investing in an optic for it, or if it's not worthy of going past 100 accurately.

Any experiences? Optic mounts? Scopes? I'm considering the UltiMAK rail and a Primary Arms 2MOA red dot to co-witness with the front iron post and the rear Tech-Sight I have.

~Brian~ 12-07-2015 05:02 PM

Looks good!

CleanNeon98 12-11-2015 05:55 PM

Went out again on a non windy day, same friend's hand loaded rounds (he just started doing 223 recently), this time at 100 yards, same bench rest.

http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/b...psjtf1anxb.jpg

That's a 1.25" group :) Now the Wolf Gold 223 55gr didn't do bad either considering I paid $300 shipped for a case of 1,000. Managed to score 5/5 hits on a 5" plate at the 200 yard line.

http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/b...psuqawzvev.jpg

Put the AK back to stock (wood furniture, stock sight) and did a few shots at 100 (not seeing all that well with this). Still, pleasantly surprised.

Crappy pics but I just picked up a MPX. It'll be suppressed and SBR'd sometime.

And my Forum 1 came back on my suppressed .300blk SBR.

Picked this up about a week ago from Relic Hunter in Whitehall. Can't wait to get home from Ireland and run some rounds through it.

how do you like it?

it felt very cheapy in the gun store

Tinkles 01-15-2016 03:58 PM

I haven't been able to shoot it yet. Out of the box the receivers are tight(no unwanted movement) and enough weight that I feel confident that it is a quality item but still decently light. I've had a Bushmaster Carbon-15 and a Sig P250, so I would say that I know what a cheap gun feels like and the MPX is no where near it. I am very happy with the quality and workmanship that is in it. I wouldn't have bought it if I didn't like the quality. But it is my 1st "sub-machine" gun and I can see that shooting it as a pistol can be awkward because I am used to shouldering guns that size or larger. I am not a fan of spray and pray. But a SBR stamp will fix that. With the SBR and can I would expect it to be similar in size to the .300blk AR. My biggest grip with it is that the "aftermarket" support isn't there yet. I know what stock I want, but since it is not currently being produced the few I have found on eBay and Gunbroker are asking $600+ for a $250 stock. I haven't been able to find different barrels or handguards yet for it.

havent shot it yet. COVID ****ed everything and riots ****ed it again. Patiently waiting for my local ranges to open to the public.

~Brian~ 06-29-2020 05:34 PM

That's too bad... it would drive me nuts having a brand new gun sitting around but not being able to shoot it.

I picked up a Benelli M4 about two months ago and have been able to hit the range a few times, fortunately.
