Everything, including my g17 looks cooler through a fisheye lens. LOL Also I filled my letters/numbers in with white.

What did you use? I've been wanting to do it for awhile now but I always chicken out when I walk into the nail polish isle at Walmart while OCing and all the ladies give me a dirty ass look.:bigeek:

92awdtsi 03-06-2011 11:15 PM

a white crayon. literally, just scribble over the letters/numbers and then use a paper towel to rub the excess off. The white will only stay in the recessed area. And since its just crayon, you can get it out with a toothpick if you need to. So far it hasn't come off after shooting 200rds at the range.

AutobahnRacer 03-06-2011 11:19 PM

^That is a really good idea, where did you get the idea to use a crayon?

Will have to show this to my friends dad, he's got a glock as well.

Yeah I thought about the crayon idea as well only my son has not a single white crayon anywhere in the bucket of crayons in his room!!! :furious: Do you EDC that gun? My issue is I EDC my G19 for the most part and I dunno how the crayon would hold up to that which is why I was contemplating the nail polish route instead.

Maybe crayon then clear nail polish?

Munky 03-07-2011 12:13 AM

Eh the clear prob wouldn't stick to the crayon since it's wax. If I was gonna go through all that trouble I might as well just use the white nail polish and be done with it. I'm also going to the craft store tomorrow to look for one of those paint pens with the super fine tip that way I can just fill it in and not worry about wiping off all the excess.

92awdtsi 03-07-2011 12:15 AM

yea the g17 is my edc, hasn't come off yet, Honestly I don't think it will come off unless I take it off since its just filling in the recessed area's. When you "rub" off the excess crayon its essentially the same thing as holstering your gun 1000 times. Also I'd steer clear of nail polish just because I always like the option of easily making my gun "stock" again.

*edit* Oh, and I got the idea from www.glocktalk.com a forum I frequent

92awdtsi 03-07-2011 12:19 AM

Picture came out a little blurry but I also did my magazines. Now you can actually read them.

The nice thing about the nail polish tho is that you can just put a lil bit of Acetone Free nail polish remover on a q-tip and take it right off. Beats sitting there forever with a toothpick scratching it away. But I think I'll try the crayon technique first. I've been watching all the videos on YouTube for the last 3 weeks .

^^^^^This was my main reasoning behind doing it. Especially since I plan on getting a Glock 23. I don't wanna grab for a magazine in the middle of the night and find out I'm putting .40 into my 9mm or vice versa.

That's sick! I want to try this with my XDM but I'm not sure how it will come out seeing as the magazine's and slide are silver.

you can always use a different color crayon lol:rock:

Munky 03-07-2011 04:25 PM

I was seriously going to use hot pink on my Glock. Just to see the reactions I would get. But I still can't bring myself to use nail polish

My man, where did you get that gorgeous magazine?

92awdtsi 03-07-2011 04:54 PM

cabelas. but don't tell anyone that a family outdoor store sells those evil high capacity clippppzzz

SvicksTc 03-07-2011 05:33 PM

wow the magazine idea is a good one, i might have to try that out to my 33rnder :) and if i like it maybe do the rest of my mags, although dont think i want to do it to my slide

Think im taking the ma dukes shooting tomorrow haha

if anything Munky if you are going to use nail polish i think there is a write up on glocktalk, i would try using a toothpick and dipping it in the nail polish so it would be minimal excess to whip down after

Are you required to be a PA resident to walk into a Cabela's and buy of those?
