That'd be awesome man, I turn 21 in march and I'll be looking to purchase then after I get my ltc.

Don't know what your price range is on a ar but check out s&w m&p ar15 tactical. For the money you can't beat it. I own one and love it. With all the add ons it comes with you can't beat it. If you look around you should find one for 1100 to 1200.

Sounds about right I was also looking at the DPMS ar 15...I'm assuming most of them are very similar.

My suggestion... compare a glock to one of the other popular polymer frame semi-autos before deciding. I absolutely hate the grip angle on glocks and would never buy one for that singular reason. They just feel so uncomfortable in my hand compared to my XD and M&P... and I'm far from alone in that opinion.

as for ARs... before you decide anything, read this:

http://forums.officer.com/forums/sho...y-an-AR-15-huh

It is considered the be-all, end-all of AR15 info on teh internets. It's quite a read, but has pretty much everything you could possibly want to know about purchasing a semi-auto .223 AR.

I personally have a CMMG, but basically anything you buy in the "Tier 2" group should pretty much go bang every time you pull the trigger if you keep up on basic maintenance.

and since I assume you enjoy tinkering, as most car enthusiasts do, you may also want to consider building your own AR. I've found I enjoy gun modding almost as much as car modding. :)

all ar15 are alike. Their very easy to maintain and clean, plus you can take two pins out and swap complete uppers. Dpms rra lwrc s&w colt bushmaster I mean there's just so many companies making ar15s now and days. At the moment I'm building a sbr 9mm ar15 with a spikes lower and plan on running a swr trident 9 suppressor. Just stay away from Olympic arms. Their a piece of ****. But realize the ar15 is a system there's so much stuff out there for them.

glock 26 (smaller than the 19 but still 9mm) I love my 1911, they can be had for a variety of prices and sizes as well... truly my favorite gun I own.

yes, like I said, I would advise not to settle on a glock until you've compared it to it's polymer-framed competition:

see i have missed a lot not being on all weekend ha..

Went shooting at target world on Sunday and took the girlfriend...( she had to start with a .22 revolver, started grouping in the center after her first 6 rounds) she then moved up to the G19 *which CK, i highly suggest picking up the 19 :)* i have decent sized hands and it fits perfect and really comfortable*

I also shot a Walther p99 and it was mehhh to me, maybe im just not a big fan of subcompacts?

My girlfriend and I put about 300 rounds of TulAmmo through the G19 and must say it will be the last time i buy that ammo for target shooting

Also picked up a 33rd magazine (which i stopped loading at 29 bullets, I need to wear this spring in a bit i guess hahah, or I am big puss) and tried out some holsters.. (target world did not have much of a selection, still undecided, leaning towards crossbreed) the Desantis N87 is not the most comfortable thing but carried all this weekend and i guess im getting use to it...

Ya I was thinking it was possibly the place, but the kid I went shooting with this weekend got his like 3 months ago at the same place as me...

I just wasn't sure if they had like a temporary period and you get the other one in the mail, since i was handed this LTCF on the spot..

Also just tried loading the last few into that magazine and "like a glove" haha
