Has anyone tried armscor ammo??? i just ordered 500 rounds of it for my S&W revolver for target shooting

gtsiawd96 02-04-2011 11:24 PM

Had some fun this weekend with some friends on his property shooting some weapons. For the 3rd time shooting it was a blast again. Last 2 shots are me. It took me longer to explain to my friend how to work my camera, than for me to learn how to properly load, shoot, and handle the Ar15 lol.

there were some independent tests done with them that don't show them in a very positive light. Try googling and you should be able to find what I'm talking about.

Winchester Ranger SXT or Speer Gold Dot are what the vast majority of LEO's are issued. I've heard Hornady makes good stuff too, but my XD45 doesn't like to feed Hornady TAPs. YMMV.

Whatever you pick, remember to verify function in YOUR pistol before expecting them to go bang every time you pull the trigger. Just because your buddy has the same gun as you and loves a certain type of ammo doesn't mean it will perform the same in your gun.

I usually run AT LEAST 50 rounds of whatever I'm planning on carrying through my guns before depending on them. It's a lot better to find out your gun doesn't like to feed a particular kind of ammo at the range than in the middle of a gun fight.

Well the reason I asked is because although I prefer Critical Defense rounds, I can not get my hands on them in my area. The best defense round (to my knowledge) that I have access to are the Hydra-Shok's...

why are you so opposed to ordering online?? (well not you specifically, but people come in this thread saying how hard it is to find ammo which is really not the case with the introduction of the interwebz.

here ya go: http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct...sting-_-147764

less than a buck a shot!

in other news I am 99% sure tomorrow I am going to pick up a G29 or G32, I have this funny picture in the back of my mind of a newer clean glock with a HIGH polished frame and barrel.... yep, thats what i am gonna do! I am also going to send out some 1911 parts for polishing (hammer, trigger, barrel bushing, barrel, recoil spring plug, recoil spring, the ambi saftey, full length guide rod, grip screws, mag release (maybe) .. will post pictures when I get the gun tomorrow torn down and then when I get the parts back fromCC (as well as the 1911 parts I want done!)

Hey guys, im turning 21 soon and would like to obtain my LTC and purchase some firearms. Im pretty ignorant when it comes to guns other than some simple basics, so im coming to you guys for some of your thoughts and some help with some of the guns im looking at purchasing. Any info on these positive, negative ect. would be appreciated. Carry would be for simple protection, gun range, and zombies :) lol.

Walther P22 handgun

Glock 19 handgun

M&P15 rifle

Just looking for your guys input on these, if you have better options for said weapons feel free to enlighten me. I'll most likely get all three if you guys dont have some terrible reviews on any of them, ive heard good things about the glock 19 but the other two im kind of in the dark with, as for the rifle im looking for something as stated above, AR-15 or something similar. Thanks in advance.

The glock 19 you will absolutely love.. IMO, it is the best "first gun" for anyone to get. Small enough to carry everyday, yet big enough to have confidence in your accuracy. You'll love the glock reliability and never regret owning it.

The P22 is a great .22lr handgun. It comes with a threaded barrel from the factory and is a great gun to put a suppressor on. I've shot many and aside from a few hiccups (mostly because .22lr ammo is dirty) they shot great.

I'm not very well versed in AR-15s. I've shot them but don't know enough about the different variations to voice an opinion.

the P22 is a terrible gun (almost as bad a sigs mosquito) read some reviews... they suck. If you want a good .22 pistol take a look at rugers MK series... The glock is awesome! and as far as the M&P... its an AR, they are all basically the same haha.

S&W actually likes to refer to the M&P as a sporting rifle haha.. guns are way better investments than cars too, I have lost very little money buying and selling guns and in some cases made a decent amount!

Was literally just about to write back about the P22 lol So that one isnt in the running anymore, as far as the Glock 19 and AR there pretty much must haves for me lol. I was watching reviews on the ?DPMS? AR that they sell, and seems like thats the way i'll go. Thanks for your input man

Munky 02-06-2011 02:04 AM

I own a p22 and love it. I use the crap out of it. I run it with a swr spectre suppressor. I have put thousands of rounds through it without any problems. I only run cci ammo through it. It does get dirty but that's due to the suppressor.

Don't know what your price range is on a ar but check out s&w m&p ar15 tactical. For the money you can't beat it. I own one and love it. With all the add ons it comes with you can't beat it. If you look around you should find one for 1100 to 1200.
