I never thought i would ever like a wheel gun as much as I like Dave's custom S&W, come spring it might be apart of my collection

Dave you must post pictures NOWWW...

It was such a badass gun to shoot, it felt very comfortable in my hands and was so smooth, accurate too, coming from me first time having shot a snub nose .357 since i was like 14 ha....

TheChamp 02-02-2011 12:05 PM

the best S&W i've ever shot was a custom John Ross 500. no muzzle brake, tighter cylinder/forcing cone gap, more recoil and higher velocities.

18psiWhiteMS3 02-02-2011 12:32 PM

I just ordered a S&W model 627 Performance center 357 mag 8 shot

SvicksTc 02-02-2011 12:34 PM

On a side note:

Is target ammo just target ammo? Im assuming the Glock is not too picky with ammo.. I am looking to buy bulk 500-1000 rounds to really get some range time in

Ive seen that some people say certain ammos tend to make guns quite dirty, clogged, etc (how bad is it really) and i mean i have no problem spending some hours cleaning her up :)

Is there a difference between brass and steel case? I assuming not just that steel would be cheaper...

my father owns a s&w 629 dx performance center 44 magnum. man i love taking that thing out. the trigger job on it is so nice plus it tends to be the loadest gun at the range with his hot reloads.

most of the time for target ammo i buy umc ammo for my glock 23. never had any problems with it, even shoot it in my subguns(9mm).

Just avoid Wolf ammo. It's cheap for a reason...

I have heard too many stories of it jamming up guns and also blowing up inside the gun.

I saw a lot of people saying that online, and a lot of others not, so id just want to avoid that all together anyway...

i get american eagle ammo at walmart for really cheap price. For my 45 acp i get box of 50 for 16 bucks

99corvette 02-02-2011 12:53 PM

avoid wolf for one reason, steel case ammo has no give like brass does. only gun i would shoot that out of is my ak47. american eagle is good stuff too.

you want to use FMJ for target practice. don't waste the more expensive HP ammo. I usually rock Blazer 9mm because the aluminum cases keep prices down. Sometimes youll find good deals on remington and stuff like that though. Wolf ammo is kind of regarded as bottom of the barrel. Same goes for cabelas brand (herters).

TheChamp 02-02-2011 01:04 PM

50AE is annoyingly expensive. 44mag isnt too bad i guess. depends on what kind you use.

99corvette 02-02-2011 01:05 PM

most handgun ammo i get is either umc or federal american eagle. reason i get alot of umc is ill go down to dicks when they get a shipment in and buy a few thousands rounds, i remember paying under 6 bucks of box years ago for 9mm. price has double now but still is cheap for 9mm.

SvicksTc 02-02-2011 01:08 PM

Thanks for all the quick input, i was going to run out today and get ready for the weekend when i come home from school, but i dont think my car is moving anywhere soon ha..

well i got a really good deal on the desert eagle with 4 boxes of ammo, original box n 5 mags. i only shot one box of ammo. might just sell it soon to be honest. it is one of the original imi desert eagles black polish finish with target sights. i dont even think its had more then 40 rounds through it if that.

TheChamp 02-02-2011 01:11 PM

ive got about 200 rounds through my 50 barrel and about 500 through the 44mag barrel on my DE. i love shooting that thing.
