yeah, pretty much.

when i said STi transplant, i meant 100% :). i havent been able to find a single difference performance-wise and i've thought about it... just basically the front end is different.

Any chance that Subiesport or another rag will do a piece on this, since I agree, not sure this swap has been done yet. I searched around last night and couldn't find anyone else swaping a bugeye for 07 guts.

I dont want any of my work in that magazine. There are a few editors there that I'd like to see in person.

Dare I even ask whats the reason?

teh DIRT 07-25-2007 02:54 PM

long story but cliffnotes:

talked to editor A about gettin a spot in the mag...things looked good. Talked to editor B who replaced editor A and he said " well I just bought an impreza and am going to do what you did so why do I need you"

ABS is in, master cylinder is in. Rear diff, subframe, lateral links, and trailing links are all in.

CarrRyanE 07-25-2007 10:08 PM

you change your rims more often than I wash my car...

Silverfc88 07-25-2007 10:23 PM

Wow! I didn't know you going that far into the swap. I thought it was just a motor and tranny swap kind of thing. Holy crap and good luck!

den9 07-25-2007 10:25 PM

i know its fun to do crazy stuff like this, but wouldnt it be cheaper to buy an sti?

And like pete said the loot.Plus whats the difference in insurance for the wrx to STi.They wont even know its a STi.lol.

How many miles where on the EJ20 when pulled.
Sorry if I missed that.

teh DIRT 07-25-2007 10:47 PM

71k give or take a few hundred. Its for sale BTW.

TROLL 07-25-2007 10:50 PM

engine has 71k... and i do agree with the guys that getting an sti would be more logical/oem/easier, but this isnt about logic... its about enjoying the process. i'm enjoying it, and i think some of the people following this thread are too :)

i'll never try to convince anyone that this is smart or logical or responsible, but it sure is fun...

Sincere 07-25-2007 11:04 PM

What are you guys doing about that extra piece of emissions equipment. Is it still there or are you bypassing that? You know what i'm talkin about, that black turbo lookin thingy on the driver side of the intake manifold.
