so they cant guarantee us a ton of lanes... they said sundays at 1 are their busiest times haha so if we wanna push her back a few hours we may have better luck, OR we can just hope for the best.

As far as photography goes they said "no" but I will have a word with the owner and as long as you guys are discrete, keep classic pistols name out of all the pics AND do not take ANY pics outside of the shooting lanes (as in no pics of employees, the showroom, guns besides our, we should be good)

That sounds awesome, im down for whatever on the time as long as it is not too too late, but i doubt they're open late on sundays

Same here. Any time is fine for me. I just said 1pm for the hell of it. lol.

10am then? Not that there's a lack of cool s*** to look at anyway but I'd really rather not wait to shoot.

How long do you guys think you will be there? Depending on how my best friends wedding goes on Saturday night, I probably won't get down there until at least 2:00 PM..

I also have my eye on a few random NFA pieces (serbu,AOW a few of the guns we already have, etc) If anyone has a lead on any of the above ::cough cough:: phillySVT and a FN sear please let me know We will be ready to get the paperwork rolling in a month or so

I'm going to pm you an e-mail from a dealer that is sitting on a few fnc sears.

nice nice, whats the Mozambique drill?

cmr076 01-26-2011 07:03 PM

so my buddy/trust partner jon (some of you have met him) has been going through a lot of personal **** (both parents having cancer, having to put one of his pets to sleep last night, etc) and being that he is my best friend and confidant I have been helping him out however I can, bringing him food giving his girl rides to work when the weather is bad and just random small ****... Anyways he calls me today twice back to back and I was driving so I didnt answer, he then texts me and tells me to call him (i am clearly assuming something bad has happened with one or both of his parents or something along those lines)

I call him when I get home and he says he really appreciates everything I have done for him and as a "small" token of his appreciation he ordered me a HK91 (well a G3 but basically the same thing) I obviously helped him out because he needed my help and I never expected anything in return but this is literally the best present i have ever gotten (with my TRP 1911 from my girl as a close second)

I have always loved His 91 and 93 but for one reason or another never gotten one for myself, I am very excited and am now shopping for a "period correct" optic for it, I am looking at Hensoldts Fero Z24 mainly, does anyone have any experience with "older" german optics? I have always had eotechs, acogs, and aimpoints but wanna keep this one "correct"

Just thought I would share with you guys because I am pretty pumped and my girl said "it looks like all the rest of them" haha

:jawdrop: Nice! Did not know you had an underfolder... definitely that! Just bring em all!

I've seriously been researching different variants all day. I'm pretty set on an AK as being my next purchase, hopefully within the next week or two. I just really want to be sure I do all the research first and consider all the options within my reach.

As of now, based on looks and concept alone, I'm fairly convinced I want a SBR with the underfolder. As I said though I've never even shot one of the damn things so I may hate it altogether. lol. My main issue is rifle vs. SBR (Draco w/underfolder since the good ones already have the undrilled 'virgin' underfolder trunnion). A $200 stamp is pretty expensive though for a barrel that only ends up being +/- 2" shorter so I'm stuck on that one. The other concern is the underfolder stock... looks badass but I'm afraid that it will make shooting it very uncomfortable and then I'll be pissed I spent the money on it. lol. That's why I want to shoot yours first!

As for the pistol... bring it too! (if you feel like it). With how cheap Dracos are I may end up just buying one and throwing a nice grip on it and leaving it at that.

Man I thought there were a lot of AR choices... now there's freakin AKs to think about too!

ETA: By the way... bring lots of 7.62  Seriously I'd like to shoot a bit if you don't mind so I can get the feel for it. I looked at my 'ammo supplier' (walmart ) and they don't sell any, so instead of making a special trip to cabelas i'll just pay you for some. I'm thinking 100-ish rounds so just add that to whatever you were going to bring anyway.

cmr076 01-27-2011 12:00 AM

haha i cant imagine newspaper articles if walmart started carrying AK ammo. I hate the underfolder, thats actually jons gun but Ill bring it anyways I wanna zero in the aimpoint. My issue with the folder is the amount of travel in the stock, theres a decent amount of play in it that makes shooting very uncomfortable.

Ill try and bring some extra ammo, but as of now I dont even know how all this is gonna fit in the miata, If I cant fit enough 7.62 they carry it there pretty cheap.

i just assumed they did. i never looked for it here before so i didn't even know what to expect. i know the walmart in the town where i lived in wisconsin had 7.62x39 piled everywhere. a friend of mine had a junk AK that he shot all the time (and somehow i always missed out on ) and i watched him buy it there a few times.

yeah that's what I thought about the underfolder. I like the idea of it, but the more I think about it I might just buy some sort of quality stock adapter or whatever and put a nice AR stock on it. I wasn't really all about the 'tacticool' AR looking AK at first, but I'm thinking I just want to build it to be a solid gun that I can go shoot with and actually enjoy. I have no problem with building a "westernized" AK. I won't be hanging any junk off of it though. lol

for the miata - build a remote controlled sentry style turret for the AK pistol and mount it to the hood. You could use magnets with felt on the bottom or even suction cups and not hurt the paint. On one hand it's a lot of wasted time/money/effort but on the other - you free up space for one more rifle to ride to the range in the trunk or passenger seat and at the same time you have a remote controlled AK on your hood, which clearly means that you win at everything. (:screwy:)

drifty240 01-27-2011 04:52 AM

Is this an open invite for the range ? I have a few firearms I don't mind letting others shoot. Will they let you shoot 308 inside or Saiga 12 ?

I have a 3in , 3.75 and 5 so why not get a 4. Found a Used Compact Custom at a local gun store and just could not walk out without putting it on layaway. Pistol shoots amazing. Not sure if the trigger has been worked but the saying breaks like glass, says it all. Really takes some getting used to from the trigger on my Para that i shoot in local matches.
